Caught in a dilemma here, a good one but a dilemma none the less. I have a 2012 s550
Friggin LOVE driving it, but I hate parking it for the winter months, it sits there in the shop from late October until May. I have a chance to snag a white or black '15 ML63, great demo prices, and I can use it all year then, a bit more versatile, but it isn't "the Lounge" as I like to call it. I just love driving an S class. If I'm stuck on a buying something new bug, maybe a new S63, doesn't let me get some German road time in the winter still unless I drive the wife's GL350, which happens on rare occasion and it just gets me itching to drive something besides my F450.
The winters are awful here, not just sand blasting but rocks too. Seems a bit more acceptable to me than an s class and trudging behind logging trucks throwing rocks from between the duals and falling bark.
Thoughts? Not sure what to do, if anything. Maybe just get some tuning. I dunno.
Lol pretty much left that out, sorry long day of traveling. Curious if anyone has went from s class to a SUV, wish they didn't. Or visa versa. Already have two suv's, three would be a bit much maybe. Thoughts of a new 63, that would be great.
keep the s class or get s63. you already have 2 suv's why get another one. if you got the money get a exotic. if the car is gonna sit in the garage that long anyways. having a exotic would be fun and maintence wouldnt be so bad cause of the long storage months.
Low mileage though, years down the line it will be well under its peers.
i was just looking at your signature. im not sure where your live. but here in houston a used 2008 s550 is pretty cheap nowadays. ive seen them for 20k and under.

After helping in the katrina effort I was flying back home with a layover in Houston. The car headlights to my left asked red taillights to my right n of everyone scrambling north made the city look like a Christmas tree. The airport was a ghost town. It was when yall had the scare that your levies may also break you said Houston that popped into my head.
The s class and gl are up north at our main residence, the e550 and glk reside down south in Kelowna at our summer home. I've had cherokee srt's I could use all year, but nothing has been as nice as this s class. The winter gets long in the tooth, logically a SUV makes more sense, but I can't get over how nice an s class is to drive, short or 10 hour days. Maybe a s63 is the way to go, and just fly to Vegas more for some track days. Lol.
I didn't cut it, it's folded, been doing that for 25 years without issue, rule states can't obstruct any writing on the plate, but will an officer really take the time to give you grief over it considering how many front frames out there obstruct at least some of the lettering. I've been told by police it looks great. My wife on the other hand with hers, she was pulled over for speeding, got a warning for speeding and a 10 day notice to comply for the plate. He was a jerk about it too, commented on "what's that fancy thing doing here, you think you don't need t follow rules with your fancy VEEEHICLE" and on. I went in with the notice to complain, they brushed it aside, I haven't changed any of them, good for another 25. I guess he thought a warning for speeding bought him critique time on the soap box. Not sure.

Thanks for the explanation. I like the low profile look of the license plate. I didn't have a front license plate for a long time until some cop spotted me driving at night to the local library. That was the end of it. Even so, I see a lot of cars without front license plates where I live, mostly Porsches, Audis, Mercedes because their owners like the look of the car without them, but the cops can only pull over so many at a time.
BTW, I've traveled to BC a lot and I've been to Kelowna many times as well as driven along the Crow's Nest Highway towards Nelson. I really liked Osoyoos and the vineyards there.
Yes, lol! When Pot was illegal here in Washington state my friends and I would make trips to BC(as its 6 hours north of home). We would go to this shady where (no joke), old men playing card games behind a small glass window would stop and sell you little 20 sacks. It was so excitingly bizarre.
Then we would go to Marc Emery's "lounges" and smoke to our hearts content! The lounge locations have changed over the years(its now a large floor on the third floor of a building with a view).
I met Marc in his first lounge about 7-8 years ago. A good friend and I were the only ones at the lounge one morning and Marc comes down the stairs towards the register, my jaw dropped and I took a picture with Him and I posing with peace signs. Ahhhh Memories
Much more to life than sitting around like a vegetable.

almost every pot head i know is the laziest person ever. they might work, do well, but they lazy. i tried the green. its not for me actually makes me sick like as if im allergic to it.
They are lazy. And I didn't notice how awful their time(including mine) management was until I stopped. I would schedule a hang out earlier in the day and only to them lose interest when it was about time to smoke up after work.
I also LOVE to drive and drove endlessly in circles for 10 years. I literally drove 200,000+ miles collectively over the last ten years. Only to smoke pot and drive. Can you calculate a rough estimate in what that cost in gas alone? I didn't smoke a pipe either, I cut cigars and filled them with weed so I could drive around the city "like a boss". My car would smell like weed n tobacco something fierce!
I love the stuff, but it interferes with my success(at nearly every level). Makes me feel like I've got it all under control. When in reality, I'm barely doing the minimum and am so social withdrawn i cant even keep a conversation going with the people I'm smoking with.

I'll trade a license plate ticket for a speeding one any day, and thank the cop for being a rude ***** while he's at it.
