No, you'll be okay. Louder than f*** but no codes. Hey, buy those Becker mufflers I'm selling. They're crazy loud without resonators. Look pretty cool too!

Off topic, good on your police force Mike!

I second the do-not-remove muffler on s550. It is TOO loud. Straight piped for a few months and it got old so I replaced pipes with smaller magnaflows, has a nice growl when you want.

Im not sure i follow on that you mean "good on your police force mike."

Ive listened to some videos on youtube and an s550 with muffler delete sounds pretty close to an S63 on a cold start.

That^
When I removed the mufflers, the sound was much louder than s63 Ive been in. The cold start growl of S63 dies down after 15-25 seconds in most exhaust videos I viewed. This sound didn't go away for me in my straight piped s550. Just remove the muffler and hear the sound, freaking awesome but so damn loud for an S-class.

Ha, yeah that was pretty cool. I actually got a phone call from one of our businesses at 6am this morning because someone threw a trailer hitch ball thru a $500 plate glass window to steal a $300 Insignia flat screen TV. When GPD showed up I asked them when Shaq was coming.

The next time your vehicle is due for a California smog test you will be in for a very unpleasant experience. You will be required to restore the exhaust system to a California EPA approved configuration and potentially a huge fine.

I think as long as the cats are in place the emissions output isn't going to change. Mufflers are noise abatement. But I don't know how strict CA is about that stuff. My state doesn't smog test.

Bro idk where u live but in california all u need is ur cats to pass. For 6 years all my cars had moddifed exhuasts and passed flying colors and no fines. Even if your missing cats now all u need is a tune and your good cuz therres a new smog program and they use ur obd2 port to pass smog no more dyno. Its for vehicales year 2000 and up. No check engine all good pretty much :p. Older vehiclaes still will pass with the older program and again alll u need is ur cats.

Is that your car in the video? Do these do anything for performance, or just the effects? Either way I like it. I'd love to have a deeper sound. Is there any easy way to add HP without dismantling the engine?

Exclamation

Hey Capo550, I made a recent video covering the muffler delete and video footage of the sound. I also took off the electronic valves and had no issues afterwards.

No errors no codes, no issues.
