2013 S350 Bluetec
2013 S350 Bluetec Transmission
2013 S350 4matic, sport package, 32K miles. There is an odd delay/thud from the trans from a stop. Does not matter if it is in E or S. Sitting at a light, drive through, pulling into a parking space it feels as though the vehicle has not down shifted and there is almost a subtle dead spot. Shift module replaced, trans reprogrammed, motor mounts have been replaced, and dealer is at a loss. Has anyone had similar problems? ANY assistance or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Limit the shift range to first gear using the selector lever or steering wheel gearshift buttons. If jolt is noticeable just after start off even though the transmission has not shifted up, the problem is likely related to torque converter (lockup clutch engagement). Complete adaptation of the torque converter lockup clutch may resolve the matter. In addition, MB released this bulletin.

Could it be related to stop neutral? My 2013 S350 will make a slight but noticeable thud a second or two after coming to a stop. If I go to accelerate very quickly, it will hesitate and lurch as it shifts back to drive - not uncomfortably so, but still noticeable.
I can force it back in to gear, if after it goes in to a neutral at a stop, I creep the car forward so that it remains in gear (it won't go back in to neutral under these circumstances). I can then quickly accelerate from a stop without that lurch.
Someone else on here asked their dealership if stop-neutral could be deprogrammed, but never got a definitive answer. I also wonder if we notice it more because of 4matic.

Problem is that mine started when the tcu was updated to the latest version.

My 2012 S350 Bluetec just turned 27,000 miles and was having the 30K service at the dealership and complained of the same cold symptom in the transmission shifting out of 1st gear. When asked "Does it do this when cold?" I confirmed affirmative. I was told that's because the converters need to heat up on the NOX emmissions. I couldn't help but also notice another post here that discussed a shady law firm trying to file a frivilous class action against Mercedes because for the first five minutes when cold, NOX emissions are 65% more. Perhaps before the emission converters come up to heat. The trans was checked for any codes nonetheless because I had requested "problem" to be checked. No codes were found.

Hi,
I have a 2012 S350, with mileage around 33k. I have had the NOX sensors replaced already - but it was under warranty. I was told by the dealership, that I can expect more NOX issues down the road, and it is not unusual to replace the NOX sensor a few times in high mileage cars...

My 2013 S350 - same problem
After having this issue tick me off for almost 2 years (now 50K miles), I'm glad I searched and found this thread. I put the car in to have this looked at some time ago, got nowhere. Now, I'm going back armed with more information.
Otherwise, I love the car, no other problems.
