What Is This Blue Fluid Leaking From My Car?

I just went to the car wash. Returned home and parked in my garage.

About an hour later, I walked to the garage and saw this:

Blue fluid everywhere on my garage floor. It's watery and does not smell.

What is it? Washer fluid? Engine coolant?

Took car to dealer this morning. They couldn't figure out what it was. Washer fluid was full. Coolant full. No warning lights.

They think maybe it was water from the car wash that got trapped somewhere and drained out when I got home. Weird.

Do I need to if the dealer checked the car and said all of the reservoirs were full and nothing leaking?

Do I even need headlight washers in the south? No snow here, ever.

I was looking inside the trunk yesterday, and I noticed that there were blue liquid stains dried up in the gutter at the bottom of the rear windshield. The color of the dried liquid is exactly the same color as the liquid that was under my car after the car wash that day.

Obviously, my headlights didn't leak and have blue fluid drain uphill, all the way to my rear windshield to then dry up in the gutter at the top of the trunk.

I think this further supports that the car wash used a blue liquid and it must have collected somewhere under the car and eventually drained out on my floor. It would appear some of the same liquid dried up in the rear windshield gutter, too.

Driving down the road, when you operate the windshield washers, the fluid could spray up and onto the roof also. That photo really looks like washer fluid to me...

Next time I'm at the dealer I will ask them to check the headlight washers for leaks.

But since I don't have any use for headlight washers, I'm not going to make a special trip.

If you have the time and are mechanically inclined you can R&I the necessary parts and see what the culprit is. unless you have a warrenty.

If it's the carwash, it's very ironic that the fluid is coming from the exact location that the washer fluid is prone to leaking. In any event keep us posted.

There were 3 puddles of blue liquid on the floor:

1 puddle at the front of the car.

1 puddle in the middle of the car.

1 puddle at the rear of the car by the exhaust.

Front puddle means washer fluid

3 puddles means it came from the car wash. If you saw puddles in 3 sections all around the car, it had to have come from the wash.

Someone probably refilled tanks at the carwash improperly. They must have put the clear rinse agent in the soap tank and the blue soap in the rinse tank or something.

I bet this happened to everyone who washed their car that day.

Drive the car another few days and see if any warning lights come on (and address them immediately if they do!). I'd check all critical fluids every morning too, just to be safe.

If nothing seems weird after that, it was definitely the car wash.

No way blue fluid would leak under the sides or rear of your car, unless if from the car wash.
