Trunk umbrella holders
I used to Vin Decoder and it said. "Illuminated trunk w/umbrella holder, grocery bag hooks, tie-down hooks'.
Does this mean my car has these installed, or rather that it is an option?

The illuminated trunk just means you have lights on each side of the inside trunk. The umbrella holder is just a spring loaded bracket on the underside of the trunk to hold an umbrella. I believe the grocery bag hooks may be clips integrated into the side moldings - never noticed them and I think the tie down hooks are clips fastened to the floor of the trunk. Nothin' special.

Those should all be installed standard.

I couldn't find the umbrella holder on my 2007 S550; the picture in the manual indicated it was on the trunk lid and, perhaps, only on cars made late in the model year?

The grocery hooks are two hooks that fold down from the top of the trunk. I think they about 1/3 over from the left side of the car, facing the trunk.

I have a 2007 S550 too and it has the umbrella holder. Maybe it was taken off?

Honestly, I completely forgot that I had an umbrella on my trunk lid until this thread reminded me of it. I guess I just never look there when the trunk is open. I've even pulled my golf bag out of my trunk at the course when I knew a little rain was expected....and cussed myself for forgetting my umbrella at home, not realizing that I had one attached to my trunk lid. If it was on the trunk floor, I would have noticed it for sure.

I will, unless someone beats me to it.
My trunk lining doesn't have any holes where the two bolts should go. I wonder if the trunk has the capability to accept those two bolts.

So remove the trunk lining, put in the x2 treenails. Replace the lining and put on the umbrella holder with the two screws.
1.25-2.5 hours of work depending on exp. with this car?
Thanks Konigstiger!

FYI...
I just ordered the umbrella holder clip (Part Number 2218101214), and was quoted $25.75 CDN, plus installation. No quote on the installation, because this is the first time the dealership is installing one... It gets installed next week hopefully at a reasonable price...
