congrats....nice car.
But expect to spend several thousands a year at that mileage regardless of history.
car has too many intricate parts.

Congratulations. Very good looking car.
Not sure what's with all the nancy's around here and their repair bill comments. I've just gone I think 4 or 5 months without any repairs needed .. except new brakes, but that doesn't count.

A good frame of reference for S550 high mileage reliability is a used late model Accord. For the money you'll spend in repairs on the S you could also buy a used Accord every year.

Update, car is throwing a code, the "Nanci's" will win this debate all day long.

150K miles on an 7 year old car. I hope you have at least what you spent on the car saved up for repairs. That car will eat you alive on repairs unless you can find a decent indy to fix things.

Congrats, nice looking choice. FYI if you ever have to replace that windshield w/nightvision its roughly $2300 installed with the camera being re-calibrated, dealer price.

UPDATE the tier blew out, HEAT keeps on going on by itself. Coming from the BMW side I always thought that Mercedes S has less problems than BMW 7. Just curious is E class also a money pit or a reliable car?

I have crazy hookups for Mercedes repair if I need but just not in the mood to deal with the repairs. Im somewhat depend on the car because of my work and it kind of scares me now. Its also funny how people start hating on you once you drive a car thats better than what they have.

I think you should buy a cheap run-around car (like a Honda or Toyota) that you can have on hand when needed. It will probably be needed more than you think. Also, you should probably budget around $5-8k in annual repairs and maintenance if this will be your daily driver.

For reference, $6.5K total repairs in the past 6 months since owning mine. Three weeks in the shop over two visits. And it is sitting at 31K miles.
My advice is, don't let things go and pile up. Keep on it, I know taking a car in for repairs is always a PITA.
