Using Star/DAS you can access the service history for a vehicle by accessing the ASSYST PLUS system. You get a record of every service done which includes the following information for each entry:

Code:
Day cycle counter: 249 Days
Kilometer reading: 17169 km
Mileage of basic maintenance item: 17169 km
                                                     249 Days
Workshop code: 505
Operations performed: - Service 1 - Service 3
This is the first entry for a 2007 S550 I recently purchased that was serviced every 13,000 miles for the last 10 years.

Who knows what these service numbers refer to?

There is a specific maintenance schedule for each car. You can download the service manual here which will tell you what each of those numbers means and the dates/mileage that each should be performed:

There is a lot of information available in the ASSYST PLUS system, and it is primarily used for warranty issues, such as exceeding the maintenance notification, and by how many days. It also records if the oil quantity increases between changes, indicating that oil has been replenished between changes in vehicles with excessive oil consumption.

This information can be forged/modified if someone had the incentive to do so from what I understand, though. I am not implying that your's has, but just an FYI.

Have you noticed an error in the website appears to omit the manual associated with the M275 and AMG powered vehicles? I did not see it under S-Class or CL-Class.
EDIT: Only applied to 2008 listings. 2007 listing indeed shows the V12

The log in the flash is not encrypted and can be easily modified. Just an FYI.

Thus a car that had virtually no maintenance can be made to appear to have perfect service record.

Not that I don't believe either of you two, but is there any proof of this information being forged? If it's easily modifiable surely there's a how to on the internet?

Just curious, what proof do you need? It is stored in the CGW, and the CGW is flash-able and writable. I am not going to discuss any details in the forum because it would probably break forum rules not to mention very unethical. But if a CGW was replaced because of a defect and was unreadable, it would have almost no information in it, but it is designed to allow a dealer to revert a service that was accidentally confirmed in the instrument cluster to correct it. I don't think that is revealing too much, but it should give you an idea. And alx is very knowledgable so his reputation on the forum should speak for itself as well. Just trust us.
