W221 ANDROID touchscreen...
#726
Hi all and thanx for sharing information and experience. I got my Android touchscreen (https://www.seicane.com/) a month back and got it installed. I drive W221 with NTG 3.0 and with TV box. No AUX or AMI. AUX was also not activated in my NTG so I got it activated now. Everything works fine now but I have a problem.
1. If I play anything on the Android system (Bluetooth or a saved media in the Android system) it will play but sound comes ONLY from the passenger side. I tried everything so far and nothing works. Pls help/advice.
2. I have an AUX IN from the Android system and when I connect my mobile and play a music, the sound comes from all speakers !!!.
what could be the problem? Why when I play from an SD or bluetooth sounds comes out only from passenger side speakers?! When I connect AUX IN to the Andriod system the full sound system works!! Basically I'm playing music through the Andriod system!!
Pls help/assit.
Thanx

all these sorts of devices cry out for further developed firmware - any one buying one should be seeking to ensure its on the latest possible edition of any software / firmware available
the manu support and or user forums should be able to shed more light that the few users that are sometimes here - other than that if the wiring was good and it works well on some devices / sources, but not on others sounds more like a hardware issue ?

I can tell you this, I wish they would fix that damn day/night/automatic dimming control. That is really my only gripe about mine. Other than sometimes the comand starts in the off or 0 position and I have to turn on or volume up back to where it was.
As to the problem at hand, maybe check your wire connection. Turn it a few times back and forth to make sure it has a good connection. Also check you settings on the Android side.

I don't have one - just showing where the user manual says the update bit is - then saw the ugly mess about early cars needing a different connection box

I'm interested in the Yeehung dual screen android touchscreen. I lived in the Dallas, Texas. Can anyone recommend a shop that could install this unit for me? Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Mekede w221 snapdragon 662 mcu
Hi Mercedes pilots, I have mekede android 12 monitor based on snapdragon 662. I connected audio via aux and checked the box "activate aux", some times sound disappears and I have to activate aux again. Anybody faced with the same issue? I think it could be due to bug of mcu. Can anyone share the mcu file with me? I will be grateful for any help

If your sound dissapears due to that the comand sets it to something else from aux the problem is then the comand or the amplifier. It doesn't have anything to do with your android.
And watch out with changing files on your android, it could end up in the android unit not working at all anymore.

Ambient button light brightness cannot be increased
Hello,
I have w221 with an android screen installed. However when I try to increase the brightness of the buttons through the android screen, nothing happens. On pressing one button, the lights seem to flicker and cycle between dim and bright. Currently the brightness is set at the minimum level. any inputs on how to increase the brightness?
I have this exact same version running Android 12 (credits to the person who uploaded it earlier in this thread :p) , set to NTG 4.0_800 (the lowest option available)

ntg color problem
Hello, my problem is related to the Mercedes W221 10.2 size version. There is no problem with the unit, but the ntg menu is blue, although it should normally be yellow. I checked everything, including the Lvds cable, but the problem was not solved. While adjusting the brightness, it adjusts the brightness of the main unit, but the widget with brightness adjustment on the speedometer does not work. .
Things I Tried
- cable control
- ntg reset
- Changing cantype from 1912 settings menu
please help me

So I figured this out as to why the Arrow is gone.
Settings/Factory/Type Security Code/Vehicle
If you chose option 1 you get no arrow
If you choose option 2 NTG 3.5 you get raise car/sport/parking sensors/screen brightness.
If you choose option 3 NTG 3.0 you get raise car/ESP/screen rotation/parking sensors/screen brightness.

yes, I tried them all ;-) In my case only setting 21 and 22 work. I actually prefer the stretched view now...
All NTG4x and newer settings result in a black screen. When trying with NTG 3.5 options (19 or 20), I get distorted view like this:
One thing I noticed is that you need to be super careful when scrolling through these FACTORY settings because it is super easy to set things wrong (when scrolling you can actually press something). Like... I somehow broke the knob functions (then I learnt I need to set to type B), then also I managed to configure it so that when you select AUX in the source, it automagically turns the Android screen on (you don't need to tap it). This is cool, actually!
//EDIT: Aux Switching Mode --> Automatic does the job. Cool!

GPS Antenna and 4g Antenna
For those of you that have successfully installed your Android Unit, I wanted to know if any of you used the antennas that came with your kits or were you able to use the OEM GPS?
If you used the antennas that came with the kit, where did you mount them?
I have a 2011 S550 with a NTG 3.5 system. This is the model of Android system that I have.

this came up on a Ford Forum the other day... might apply to your car too
Many antenna devices contain a small integral amp, so there are TWO methods to provide power to the integral amp depending upon design
1) phantom feed that sends power 5 to 12V back up the very same coax the signal comes down - this is the method most after-market devices use
2) German car manufactures prefer the more costly and pointless separate 12V feed
thus if Merc use method 2) and your device is only designed to use 1) nothing happens if you plug in the Merc GPS wire
The Ford GPS antenna can't be used with budget aftermarket android add-ons
I have the same fun retrofitting the Merc DAB Tuner on a European car -
I could upgrade to the Mercedes antenna that NEVER really function for $800
or
Fit an aftermarket one for $15 that works correctly all the time.
But when you choose to use the phantom feed supply the Merc DAB tuner can switch to - it throws a fake diagnostic warning
