W221 ANDROID touchscreen...
1. If I play anything on the Android system (Bluetooth or a saved media in the Android system) it will play but sound comes ONLY from the passenger side. I tried everything so far and nothing works. Pls help/advice.
2. I have an AUX IN from the Android system and when I connect my mobile and play a music, the sound comes from all speakers !!!.
what could be the problem? Why when I play from an SD or bluetooth sounds comes out only from passenger side speakers?! When I connect AUX IN to the Andriod system the full sound system works!! Basically I'm playing music through the Andriod system!!
Pls help/assit.
Thanx
the manu support and or user forums should be able to shed more light that the few users that are sometimes here - other than that if the wiring was good and it works well on some devices / sources, but not on others sounds more like a hardware issue ?
As to the problem at hand, maybe check your wire connection. Turn it a few times back and forth to make sure it has a good connection. Also check you settings on the Android side.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
And watch out with changing files on your android, it could end up in the android unit not working at all anymore.
I have w221 with an android screen installed. However when I try to increase the brightness of the buttons through the android screen, nothing happens. On pressing one button, the lights seem to flicker and cycle between dim and bright. Currently the brightness is set at the minimum level. any inputs on how to increase the brightness?
I have this exact same version running Android 12 (credits to the person who uploaded it earlier in this thread :p) , set to NTG 4.0_800 (the lowest option available)

Do you als have a terrible microphone on the bleutooth? I have installed an external microphone and it works perfect now.
Things I Tried
- cable control
- ntg reset
- Changing cantype from 1912 settings menu
please help me
Settings/Factory/Type Security Code/Vehicle
If you chose option 1 you get no arrow
If you choose option 2 NTG 3.5 you get raise car/sport/parking sensors/screen brightness.
If you choose option 3 NTG 3.0 you get raise car/ESP/screen rotation/parking sensors/screen brightness.
All NTG4x and newer settings result in a black screen. When trying with NTG 3.5 options (19 or 20), I get distorted view like this:
One thing I noticed is that you need to be super careful when scrolling through these FACTORY settings because it is super easy to set things wrong (when scrolling you can actually press something). Like... I somehow broke the knob functions (then I learnt I need to set to type B), then also I managed to configure it so that when you select AUX in the source, it automagically turns the Android screen on (you don't need to tap it). This is cool, actually!
//EDIT: Aux Switching Mode --> Automatic does the job. Cool!
If you used the antennas that came with the kit, where did you mount them?
I have a 2011 S550 with a NTG 3.5 system. This is the model of Android system that I have.
Many antenna devices contain a small integral amp, so there are TWO methods to provide power to the integral amp depending upon design
1) phantom feed that sends power 5 to 12V back up the very same coax the signal comes down - this is the method most after-market devices use
2) German car manufactures prefer the more costly and pointless separate 12V feed
thus if Merc use method 2) and your device is only designed to use 1) nothing happens if you plug in the Merc GPS wire
The Ford GPS antenna can't be used with budget aftermarket android add-ons
I have the same fun retrofitting the Merc DAB Tuner on a European car -
I could upgrade to the Mercedes antenna that NEVER really function for $800
or
Fit an aftermarket one for $15 that works correctly all the time.
But when you choose to use the phantom feed supply the Merc DAB tuner can switch to - it throws a fake diagnostic warning
