2008 S63

Suspicious Rubber strut material

2008 s63 with 120k at the top of the strut there seems to be some red rubber material that has turned to dust. What is this and can it be replaced on its own without doing much more?

S65 MY08 ABC strut top disintegration - NO SOLUTION

Hi,

OK it appears there is not a fix for this.... except to buy new struts for my Option 487 ABC Suspension (Active Body Control)
In OZ this is around 12,000 AUD plus fitting to do all four.......

I will wait until there is bad knocking or an issue appears.

The parts that I bought on ebay dont fit.. they are in the bin...see below part numbers

2007 S600

My Mercedes 2007 S600 also has a similar problem. The rubber is disintegrating. Does anybody have experience of replacing the rubber with the product sold in eBay?
