Got my tuned ECU back and now, no start - help!
Unhooked both front and rear batteries prior to re-installing the ECU and TCU (I wanted to upgrade the trans shift logic too). Powered the car up and it has plenty of juice, but it won't start. Instead, the dashboard lights up ok, but it doesn't even click. Nothing. But... the electric cool fan up front (the big one) starts after a few seconds, maxed out, going beserk until I shut the car off.
The other thing is the car seems to think it's running because I can shift gears with no problem. Something that wouldn't happen if it was just "on".
Waiting to hear back from the tuner of course.
thoughts?

After some internet searching, those symptoms usually mean a blown ECU fuse. But, my ECU fuse is fine. Also tried swapping the F40 relay with another, same size, no luck. Final piece of evidence against the ECU itself was that my scan tool couldn't connect to the car.
Tuner is going to cover FedEx both ways and fix the ECU.

Mailed it back in (They covered overnight both ways for me) and they had missed a solder point. Just got it back and we are good to go. Car started right up. Haven't had a chance to test out the tune, but car is ok

2007 S600, 2007 Chrysler 300 SRT8, 2000 C5 Corvette, and 2017 Mustang GT, and just got a 2023 300C
A bad solder joint will definitely cause you pain. Glad to hear they are covering the shipping; that is good to see. You'd think they do some sort of quality testing for this, but maybe not. I had a replacement Voltage Transformer that had a tiny bit of resistor wire stuck in the bottom and grounding. I had to pay the shipping!!!
Keep us posted when it is fixed. I am eager to hear about the results on performance of the new tune and ecu.

[QUOTE=lionsfan54;8784791]yeah, long time ago and they overnighted it back to me and the car was then a S65 clone power wise[/QUOTE
yea I was curious if I was to send them my ECU if they open it up and repair it And add the tune since my car randomly wont start now I am assuming it’s the ECU or EIS. Figured it won’t hurt to see if they can fix it and tune

this is a generalisation - no idea about the specific company - nope - their job is to push 15p worth of random bodged up zeros and ones at it for $800 - these days more and more often generic gibberish invented by a bunch of moped riding junkies in a gaming den in Italy - its not to repair a blown board because an oil leak over 15 years finally confused some worn out electrics - if an old school place full of geniuses they probably could repair it - but it will cost 5 times the cars value

Your prose often makes for a good laugh. Well done sir. Seems currently the figure is closer to $1500.00 to reflash with software that may or may not perform as promised... or worse, program the ECU to blow it up.
