Airmatic qualms

Hello all, I’m not staring to have my first Airmatic issues on my 07 S550. (Shocking I know, LOL) The car has 94k miles and is pretty well taken care of. Anyways, when the temperature drops durastically the suspension drops. Only the two front struts, but the temperature dropped from about 60° F to about 37° F. I drove the car this morning and it sat about 8 hours, came back outside and the front was completely slammed but the back was fine. As soon as I touched the door unlock pad it immediately went back to place. I started the car and have no errors on the display. Is this normal? I’m assuming I have a leak, but where should I start to look. This has happened only a few of times in the past year or so I’ve owned it and it’s been much colder than it is now. Also my pump seems to be on its last leg. It functions fine, but it’s extremely loud. My uncle is a mechanic so he’ll probably do most of the labor, but I wanna find a solution before it fails and leaves me stranded.

Thanks for reading, have a great day
-Tyler

Check for leaks @ struts & valve unit to compressor, see attachment. See capture for compatible compressor part #s used, new 2213201704. When replacing compressor also replace relay “B” part # 0025422319 @ front SAM (engine compartment).

thanks! I’ll start my check tomorrow. I drove the car tonight about 40 miles and everything seemed to be fine. I’m hoping it’s the valve block causing the sinking, but wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a strut as the car is on all original air suspension parts from new. If my uncle and I were to fix it, would we have to take it somewhere to get a new pump and the strut coded via STAR or will it just work? I have access to almost anything needed besides the STAR and Xentry (my family owns a diesel/semi repair shop. ). I absolutely love this car and am hooked on Mercedes. I just don’t think I could adjust to anything else and be as happy with it. I’ve been eyeing the W212 E400’s and E550s but they just don’t have the same presence as an S.

No need for STAR: https://www.benzworld.org/forums/w22...completed.html
