Can't set date and time in Comand
OK, read about it now.... wow, well done and thanks for all the work you guys have made on this update disc,
I was going to say this must be very new, as I had mine plugged in last week and there wasn't one showing up... we are still trying to fix a bug with the radio not muting when a Nav comand cuts in. Used to do it perfectly... and after running round the houses, its all pointing to Mercedes informing us to update the Rear SAM with SCN pulling in a facelift update from week 43 in 2009 that's broken it
FYI something seems to have given me hill hold assist (vehicle has distronic plus), I notice it if reversing up my drive and I brake (to double check what's about) it will hold the brakes on and not roll forwards down the drive for around two seconds. never did that till we updated some stuff this year

Thank you for your persistence in solving this on-going problem.
I followed to a T your very detailed and specific instructions.
It worked perfectly! Wow!!
I gratefully appreciate it.
Thank you again,
Pitek
No, I have not read the codes with DAS. I do not have one and the stealership charges an arm an a leg to have anything scanned here in Canada. I refuse to go there! Period.
I will have an access to a pretty good scanner this week. I will find out if there are any codes. But, I am not sure why it would be so important to anybody at this point. It does work like a charm.
Thanks,
Pitek

I promised to have my car scanned. Yes, there is an error message about the software. But you know what? I really do not care.
Why? Because, as I had already said twice "it works like a charm!" I am happy and very grateful to Polar Bear for the permanent fix.
Thanks,
Pitek

I can go through the Comand Center and get into the Time. I can move the time to the correct time, but when I click on the center of the Comand Button to confirm it takes me back one screen to the Time and does not update the clock. The same exact thing happens with the Date. I can update the Date to today's date but when I click in the Center to confirm it takes me back to the previous screen and the date goes back to 04/10/2018. I have no errors and everything else if functioning correctly including the working clock...it's just off an hour. I even tried to change it from Eastern Time to Central Time and it does not update, it just goes back a screen.
The only thing ive noticed though still is the calendar date won't change that's reverted to 2003 and i think the clock has fallen behind 2 mins in time.
Honestly i don't care for the date being incorrect and just happy i was able to fix the time as before it was over 30/35 mins difference if i remember correctly.

Sorry for my very late reply, but I didn’t just come around to testing your solution.
Plus my S 320 has been stalled for a long time as I did not have the money available to repair the oilcooler leakage for which these W221’s are infamous of ;-(
Anyway this has now been repaired ( yeah!! ) and I tested your solution.
Good news! It worked like a charm! For me the easy part was that I have a garage in my house where I park my car when not driving, so I didn’t have to hurry putting the date and time as my car does not have access to the GPS network when it’s inside LOL
Thanks a million for your help as this problem was bugging me for a longer period already, and even worse no MB dealer in entire Belgium did know a workaround or solution. Tssssssssssssss....
Cheers and take care dude
Wilfred
I have 3 Mercs in My Garage = A GL63/S550/E500
im not going anywhere by leaving this Forum - which has saved me soo much time ;-P
Now coming to your concern - i was able to fix mine and here are the steps
Step 1 - Tonight before sleeping and letting your S go to sleep - switch off Command till the screen is completely off
Step 2 - First thing in the morning - you have a very small window ( approximately 60 seconds ) do the entire process as fast as you can , as its imperative to make the changes before the command syncs with the GPS Sats
Step 3 - Switch Key to position 1 or press start button once - till your ignition lights - light up in the dash .
Step 4 - Switch On Command - Navigate to the Date & Time Settings in the command - and quickly make the changes ( took me 33 seconds - Like a NINJA - lol )
Step 5 - At this point your time and Date should adjust - and you should be good to go
Its been over a month and mine has been working just fine
Let me know if you need anything else
Good Luck

I have reset the date as you advise. Rechecked 15 min later and its still there. After the breakfast I will go to the GYM taking the CL65 for a ride. Lets hope the date won't change anymore.

all the satellites up their moved their clocks from year 19 to 1 - in April 2019, in a standard event know as WNRO - GPS devices impacted by the issue can be fixed by applying a patch letting the device (aka your comand unit) know what 19 year epoch its working in
for devices running NTG3.0 a user make-able CD will fix the time and date bug now inside your car inside 10 minutes - read the correct post here
