I have a 2012 Mercedes Benz s550 w221 and keep getting the warning message in the instrument cluster which says "battery not charged" (IN RED) and also the message "charge battery" (IN WHITE), I have replaced the battery and alternator both brand new also the auxiliary battery is in good condition I've been told that there is a 3rd battery which is consumer battery but not in this vehicle, if anyone has a solution please reply thanks Not a consumer batt No 3rd battery in this model

Connect to SDS and report errors. Really it is much easier to troubleshoot with proper diagnostic than guess what can be wrong. I bet that the battery and alternator you replaced cost more than SDS from aliexpress. Are you doing repair yourself or you have mechanic which is taking care of your car?

Did you find cause of problem? I am having same issue. Alternator and batteries fine. Do your buttons on left side of steering wheel work and allow you to scroll through and pull up the various menus ( trip, navi, phone,etc) mine do not. Buttons check fine on scan. I am now leaning towards corrupted IC software/SCN coding or bad IC cluster. Plan on checking software next week with SDS.
Did you get this message cleared? What was the official diagnosis and remedy? Mine just came on and I have an appointment with the dealer. I have searched for a cause on the Internet but to no avail. A search brought up looking under the hood to check if the serpentine belt was still intact. I was told by a MB advisor that it may be due to the car sitting and not running much. Leave it running for 45 min or drive it around and it should clear by itself. I have let it run in place and have not driven the car around for fear of getting stranded. Appointment set for having MB service check it. Will follow-up with my findings. 2012 S550 4Matic Charge Battery message.

Was leaving car on for 45 minutes or driving car 45 minutes fix the issue? I was gonna go in Mercedes dealership to do a 50 point buyers inspection and probably ask them to remove that message. left steering wheel curser is locked up. Any tips in removing this message without sds computer?

perhaps u can try and report back how you get on with this idea I'm about to put below - typed it twice in last 6 months no one ever bothers to mention if it helps !
the red light left nagging is a very common issue on the later cars with the large front battery (and no rear battery) - one guy had a long thread running on here - after 18 months he was still trying to fix after basically replacing everything and getting nowhere (it seems most offload the cars to sort the problem - so we never get any conclusive answers)
the out of the blue he popped back having visited a merc specialist that showed him a trick - he tried and reported back it fixed it !
it seems stupid and illogical that it can help - but quite possible a secret trick the dealers keep to themselves - go out to the car and turn the key to the cranking position - but don't let go of the key - keep holding in crank position for 10 seconds... the car will of course start - but it kicks the starter out of mesh upon start, so there is no harm in trying this
