S65 Cluster install in a S600
Anyone ever done this? aside from needing to adjust mileage to match actual mileage, what other things will or will not work on the S65 cluster once installed in the S600?

Interested in this as well. There is a post on here from someone who did it a while ago.

Be careful doing this. If the odometer is higher in on the cluster that is in your vehicle, it will synchronize with your EIS and will effectively increase the mileage of your vehicle. To be done properly, you need to have access to some special equipment that will virginize the cluster to put it in the the same state like it came across the parts counter at your dealer. After installation, you will need to SCN code the cluster, which will tell the cluster all of the options your S600 has taken from the VeDoc that is associated with your VIN, which will make all of the correct menus be available. This is done through Xentry Diagnosis by performing an Initial Startup, and it will walk you through the process. The virginization process to make it appear "new" and revert the mileage to zero must be done by someone familiar with these clusters, but the Initial Startup can be done by your dealer or independent with SCN access.

You will have to perform the "Teach In" process to get the cluster to work, and DAS will not Teach In a cluster that has previously been taught in to another vehicle without the virginization process (making the vehicle thing it is new). Then the odometer will sync with the EIS, which will be the same as your current cluster.
If someone is not experienced in this, they will attempt to virginize it, and while doing so remove all option coding from the cluster, so you will be missing menu options at the bottom of the cluster such as Telephone, Navi, and when you do enter menus such as Assistance, you will be missing menus.
This is what your S600 cluster would look like if you converted it S65 instrumentation. Note the red speedometer needle and the fonts do not match the rest of the gauges. Does not look bad at all, but some may not like that.
An alternative is to convert your S600 cluster to a BRABUS cluster which will give a more conservative look and match the rest of the cluster, but you will not have a "race timer" and oil temperature, and voltage gauge.
BRABUS startup screen when unlocked:
You will need to:
1) Purchase a cluster that has 0 km on it and has had the security access relaxed, or send your current one to someone who can perform this.
2) Install the cluster in your vehicle.
3) Perform an Initial Startup in DAS using Take Over Setting from Previous Unit or Previous Unit is not Available. If first option is used, leave existing cluster in but ready to be disconnected when prompted by DAS and the replacement connected.
4) It will teach the cluster into Drive Authorization and copy the ASSYST information if you select the first option above.
5) During the Initial Startup, it will check for new software, so you will need have a username and password to log into Daimler's servers to obtain this.
It is not a trivial task to swap many Mercedes-Benz parts between vehicles unless you understand the unique settings stored in them from the original vehicle they were installed in, and have the knowledge to remove it so you can replace it with the information of the destination vehicle.
6) The task will be appended to the VeDoc automatically for your vehicle

I have driven all up the east coast performing diagnostics and modifications, as far north as Buffalo, NY, and south to Florida, (not quite the Keys, yet!). If you are interested, PM me and we can discuss.
