Another AC conditioner problem

So I will start off by staying that my car hasn’t 157k miles . I noticed that on the front passenger seat under the dashboard that there was water dripping. Well of course the front drain was clogged . I cleaned out the drain and order a new blow motor. I also decided to ordered a new resistor as well. Well I get both parts and install them and nothing happens. I get an dtc codes. I attached the pictures of what of the codes I get. One of them is with the old resistor connected and one with the new resistor both were connected to the new blower motor any ides?

Check f50 & f54 @ front SAM (engine compartment). Components that communicate with each other over the LIN bus are connected in series. Limp mode can be actuated if the blower regulator detects a disruption in communications. If the ground connection has malfunctioned or there is a short circuit in a LIN bus component. Refer to the block diagram. Correct blower regulator is part 2218706758, motor 2218202714 - purchased used always the chance could be defective.

To answer the first question. I used brand new parts. I bought a brand new blower motor hella behr and I bought a behr resistor as well.

kon,

your the man thank you very much . It was F54 that was blown. From the naked eye it didn’t seem blown but it was ! Thank you again . I replaced the blown fuse and all is good.

ANOTHER AC conditioner problem

Hi i have a W221 S65AMG early this year my blower stopped working. I ordered a new one as well as a regulator in Behr. Upon replacement it worked all well 👌 within two weeks it started deteriorating in auto mode middle vents got stuck closed and blowing air only in footwell, side vents and upper towards windscreen. Then blower became ntermettent and running when car is switch off. I tried to change the setting of rhe vents from auto to mid vents only but change its seems the actuators stays stuck open upwards downwards side except middle stuck closed.
The air coming out is stilll cold though and if i press defrost it seems that there is a bit more air blowing upwards though i need to check again if footwell is still blowing or less and whether side vents stop blowing on defrost mode.
Any idea?

the blower motor has nothing to do with where the air comes out.... loads of flap are electronically moved by silly little flap motors and the 9 ambient air temp sensors when its on auto - there are various reset ideas within dealer or high end diagnostic kit - something is broken - you'll need decent diagnostics to give u half an idea - later software releases for early cars gave more info about what's going on....

once a modern car is outside its warranty what works, how it works, and how often it works, is becoming a lucky dip - it might be something just needs the exercise or it might be 5k to fix - that's the game the manus are playing with us

Thank you for your share though i forgot to mention that my passenger footwell carpet is wet under due to clogged drain could a short circuit have caused the blower to stop working.at first?

the dealer couldn't reset the AC and according to them they cannot communicate with the AC control module

i need to take a further appointment for thorough investigation and take it from there...🤞

A quick test performed with Xentry will provide information as to which bits in the dash are pissed.

soggy floors on ageing Mercedes is a design feature they have used to at least 20 years - they manage to make the sunroof, windscreen and scuttle drains block up from debris that accumulates over the years - then they deliberately mount critical control modules that communicate on the fragile canbus networks under the carpets where no one knows its a damp soggy corroding mess on critical electrical connections

pull it up - remake connections and spray ACF50 everywhere

one easy win on both sides but especially for the blower motor side is NEVER refit the grommets for the ABS sensors when you replace them - that way the water that can never get down the pathetic screen drains isn't sloshing about on top of the heater fan (the inner wing, wheelarch liners means road filth isn't flung up anywhere that matters).

note the air con module is not on the floor - its literally beside the blower motor on the transmission tunnel side of things (5 screws and 30 mins to remove and refit) - they are $45 second-hand on ebay and are plug and play (if its like for like part numbers).... I swapped mine thinking it misbehaved from a software update - I suspect its really and ageing engine thermostat and the silly black $50 heater valve up by the wiper mechanism that are just tired means the heat is lazy to come out the vents...
