Promising long-term fix for NTG 3.0 Date/Time Issues.
I have a new problem though.. I have successfully used the rest overnight method (no gps) to reset clock first thing in the morning for years with two cars. I replaced my original convenience battery (13 yo) on the 2008 and now the overnight method does not work. It does reset to 12:00 on the analog clock at midnight but then the analog clock doesn't keep time. I'm stumped.. Going to try to set the clock at noon with the battery disco and hoping that works. What could have happened with the new battery? Stronger signal to the GPS so it doesn't drop?

I just grabbed from post 137 and checked it works - it is the correct info - unzip open the folder and the iso file hash is D316983FCC0A9E3D8090959524C80F2B matching the authors own posts
if the fix worked then the time on both clocks and date will sort themselves out
I planned to take it out and re-film polarized, Is there any one experienced with this issue?
cheers

before trying again I would check your comand menus to see if the sat nav has the menu for the Birdseye mapping. the author of the file mentions he thinks the "clock patch" may not load if the car telematics ring is running old software.
you may need to update the car then apply the clock fix. The interesting point here is Merc adopted the fix so ought to make a new all in one update disc (but I doubt they did). NOTE: Telematics update (on pre 2008 MY cars) done by the dealer turns off the AC pump and they need to go back in and tick a box to re enable after the update
So, anyone know where we can find Daimler's update? Sorry, late to party ... but I want to fix the clock too.
the file has never changed. I guess someone saw how it was done and agreed it was a legit fix and "its become approved by Mercedes" (how they provide I don't know). Maybe a few decent dealers made their own disc and told Merc it works. As Merc can't be bothered to do the work themselves, maybe its just a nod to say it doesn't break anything. As its not the way Merc do updates, they should have released a later telematics update disc incorporating the fix. These discs have always available to purchase from your dealership as a spare part (I believe). Although just bunging in is not a great idea the full update can be anywhere from 30 mins to 3 hours and might need a nudge by dealer kit along the way. How / why when Mercedes update telematics is disables your AC I don't know, but they did it to mine even though I stated they must check its on afterwards.... of course "being the experts" they didn't bother and I had to go back and waste another 40 mins with them plugging in diagnostics to re-enable. Just like many owners found here if you search out 12 year old posts when the last update came about (after the first facelift in 2008)
