belt/bearing chirp and squeal

08 s550 had a belt squeal for first few minutes of driving I replaced the belt tensioner and it reduced to a chirp thats constant. The belt and idler pulleys were replaced 8 months ago can't seem to locate it.

That squeal could be a bearing on one of the belt-driven components. You might try removing the belt and slowly rotating the Alternator, Water pump, etc. by hand. A mechanics stethoscope can help isolate the source of the noise.

If you don't have a stethoscope try a short length of 13mm black poly retic pipe - works a treat; just be real careful not to get it caught up in the belt.

Speaking from experience another reason may be due to the belt and in particular the side of the belt rubbing against one of the pulleys - try rubbing a dry cake of soap on the side (again be very very careful) and see if it stops for a while. And in my case using a non genuine MB belt caused the problem - disappeared when I went genuine belt.

I have a cheap belt from O'Riley's but I just ordered a gates belt.

As a note. I got the lube from that service bulletin and the noise goes away for the day but comes back in the morning like clockwork.
