I purchased these remaining two wheels. After taking wheels to the Shop to be installed, one tire would not hold air. Further inspection revealed the wheel had been repaired and there were torch marks from the repair. I contacted the seller and he disavowed any repair ever having been done. In our converstations he repeatedly stated "Wheels never look the same after repair, these are perfect". He also blamed it on the tire. The tire is fine on the current wheel. Oh well. Even though he misrepresented them, I felt they would still meet my needs if I had them reworked. I made a most generous offer and asked the seller to split the $150 cost orfrepair and call it even, which he was not happy about. Eventually he said , "You must need $75 a lot more than I do".
I took the wheel to the actual wheel repair shop and they cannot repair it at all. It has been repaired twice, and on one of the repairs, they shaved off so much metal trying to straighten it that they cannot fix it. This Seller is meticulous. The Seller seemed meticulous on the phone. There is little to no chance he was not aware of the repairs. Giving him benefit of the doubt, even if he was not aware, he should have stepped up to the plate to refund the unusable wheel he falsely advertised.
I have already eaten my loss for now and will recover at a later date. I do not want any other members here to get a raw deal, so just be aware.
I already posted picts of the Wheel in question. I heard the same BS from this guy on the phone. I left open the possibility that he just didn't notice or got scammed himself, but as you can see that is not the case. r. I will get the report from the Wheel repair shop on Monday and post it as well. You can believe this guys words or my proof. I believed him and it went poorly for me. He is correct, I only needed one wheel and bought two. That doesn't mean you can give me an unrepairable wheel. They were far from perfect . One had a blemish that he mentioned, the other has been repaired twice. I am not saying this. The experts who do this every day are. I was not trying to return a wheel I didn't need, as a matter of fact I told you I would take it to be repaired and split the cost you. This in itself is proof. BTW the tire he claims I have that is bad is holding perfectly fine on the one wheel with the slight blemish he sent me. (He disclosed the blemish on the phone, so this is not an issue) I also offered to put him on the phone with the Mercedes Repair Shop owner who took delivery of the wheels. No go. As far as "Dropping them". He did admit someone dropped one on the other on his end. It made a small blemish. Nothing I am concerned about. The problem with this wheel is it has been shaved down too much. You cannot shave a wheel down by dropping it.
About his sister. Her number came up when trying to contact this scammer. As he said, he blocked me. I imagine he has to block quite a few people in his life , so it comes as no surprise.. She was super nice. I will not reveal what she told me about this guy because I do not want to cause her trouble with him but suffice it to say it was an interesting conversation.It was a long conversation because she is very very passionate about her rescue work and rehoming pets around the country. It was fascinating and great to talk to someone with such passion about it. As I told her, talking with her more than made up for having to deal with him. I donated $150 to the Pet Rescue Service where she volunteers (Money I would have spent to repair the unrepairable wheel) I told his sister to ask her brother to match my donation rather than sending me back my money Does this sound like a scammer? No, it does not. I will still consider the matter closed if he matches my donation. Here is the email I received in response to my donation.

This guy constantly talks about his money, mansions, etc. Instead of taking responsibility for selling crap, I offered to take $75 which is half the repair cost (Before I learned it was unrepairable). Sounds like I am the scammer, huy? LOL. His repsonse is , "You must really need the money more than me". No, I just don't want ripped off. I admit I was tired of his "I am so rich bull, and I told him I would bet him $1million dollars , money held in attorney escow that my audited net worth exceeded his. This is not about the money. Its about making sure this guy does not rip anyone else off on the forums. If it truly was a mistake, he would have corrected it, I will post the response from the Wheel repair service as well, so you can draw your own conclusions. My facts, proof that I am not out for money as shown by my donation to his Sisters Rescue fund and an upcoming report on the Wheel from professionals. After that i will consider my service to this community in this matter complete and I will deal with this guy off this forum.
I realize I am not a very active member here, I am a premium member of another Mercedes Forum most of you know and have been for many years. I just ran into a bad seed, that is all. It happens. I will make it right and move on. I am still totally fine with this guy admitting it was a mistake, or that he truly didn't know, but you know and I know these type of people don't have that in them. Be careful out there!

At what point do you realize that you sold a bad wheel? Knowingly or unknowingly. Your claim I am trying to get money is ridiculous. I offered to split repair on the :"Perfect" wheel you sent me. I then donated $150 to the Pet Rescue and challenged you to do the same? If I am trying to "make money", I am terrible at it. No one who reads this who is smart enough to own a Mercedes is going to believe you.
So last year when I bought my 2007 SL550, a month later I got some new tires because one rear tire kept losing air. A few days later one new rear tire was still losing air so I got two new front tires to match the new rear tires and also ordered a set of nice new wheels plus four new tire pressure monitor gizmos, one inside each wheel. Total cost for all the tire sand wheels, and TPMS sensors, about $3000. But I have Continental staggered Extreme Contact Sport tires and the wheels are 20 inch, very nice. I took the wheels that had come with the car, one rear has a issue that makes it leak air very slowly. Might be a surface where the tire bead meets. Rather than deal with having it fixed, I Set of Four of these, Staggered 20's for R230
wanted the car perfect and so spending three thousand dollars seemed like the thing to do. LoL It's a lot to spend on just a leaking tire, but anyhow it all worked out because the new tires and wheels never leaked a drop and are perfect to this day.
Those other wheels are black, 20 inch, staggered, I was thinking of selling them but I don't know where to advertise them, maybe craigslist, but I don't want to misrepresent them about the one that leaks air. I'm sure it is repairable, but I already spent $3k on new wheels & tires so that's not anything I am going to address. The wheels are near Seattle. If there's someone who might be interested let me know! Dunno what they are worth but they are fairly nice, Here is a photo of one of those wheels.The new wheels I got are quite similar. If someone wants them I'll make a killer deal. But, no drama please! LolZ LOLz LoLz
