2011 S550 front compartment noise over speed bumps

Hey guys,

I have this noise problem with my when I go over even the smallest bumps at no matter what speed it makes this terrible noise.
I took my car to my mechanic, they said everything looks fine.
However, they glued up all the suspension parts together and the noise still exists.

Please check out the attached video to hear the noise.
I'd be very thankful if you can help me figure out what's causing this problem and how to get it fixed.

If they have not already done so other things to consider, suggest checking tie rods see attached bulletins and torsion bar linkage & bushings.

If you're mechanic is using glue on your suspension, you need to fire him immediately.

And what kind of mechanic only visually inspects and doesn't drive the vehicle while diagnosing? Obviously the problem still exists, regardless of what he saw with his eyes. What a scam. What the hell is the world coming to? Your mechanic is obviously wrong, and what he did didn't solve ****, so take the damn car back and make him fix it.

I'd have your issue ID'd over the first bump if I were behind the wheel. It's definitely a suspension component/s, most probably those indicated in konigster's post.

The glue thing was a legit repair, albeit bizarre. I just read about it today. Front anti-roll bar bushing/carrier to subframe.

Check front control arms and ball joints. Often Strut bar bushings will get weak.

No, it's not legit. It's BS. I don't care what you read.

Put the car in the air and start pry-barring.

why TSB say to glue sway bar bushing, instead of replacing - MBWorld.org Forums

It's legit in the sense that this is the OEM approved way to fix this particular issue. You can talk to me all day long about how you don't agree with it, and that's fine.

Have mechanic check lower control arms. My W221 exhibited same creaking sounds. Replaced with new OEM part to solve the issue.

Also check sway bar bushing/ brackets. I had one of the bolts break off on a bracket.. Made the same noise.

damage on sway bar or control arm can be visual. Since the car checked by shop already therefore I believed no issue with sway and control arm.

Noise likely cause by strut: inside strut there are a rubber mount on top a strut and it broken over the time then it can't mount hydraulic suspension and make so much noise over speed bumps. Since this rubber mount is inside the strut then you can't visual check until you disassemble entire strut. (See video for detail)

Are you still having the issue? It's usually the front struts that are bad. If you take one or both out you will find that they have been leaking on the top of the strut. I just placed mine on my CLS550 and even Mercedes told me everything was OK. I kept taking it back until one mechanic told me it was a bad RH front strut. I changed it and half of my problem went away, I changed the other side and now all of the noise is gone. Just because your strut stays up doesn't mean it is working properly. I bought my struts from a dealer at a very deeply discounted price and had each installed for 100.00 a side. It took all about an hour for each side and now, it's quiet as a church mouse.

I found this to be the case years ago on a Jaguar XJR and then again on my CLS550. Everyone overlooks this and so, here we are.

I am 99% certain it's a control arm and ball joint. The S Class is a very heavy car. The control arms and ball joints wear out on these cars every 45,000 to 65,000 miles. I had both sides done within a year of each other under warranty at the dealer.

So you're saying they used E-class suspension on the S-class?
