After nearly 5 yrs unfortunately my 2010 S550 was in a accident. Praise God I walked away in perfect form. I will need everyone’s assistance in searching for a new Benz! I am looking to go with a 2014 (w222) and up years but am still open to the w221 class. I’m not sure about what issues or mileage I should purchase the w222 at but I will need that great insight everyone has!
there were some guys illegally pulling cars in the middle of a 2 lane highway... no hazards or lights on, not pulled to the shoulder, in the complete dark. They were hooking the cars up with some sort of metal bar stopped on the road smh...

Wow, so glad to hear you walked away from this. It appears to me MB Safety Engineering and build quality worked fine.
Good luck on finding a replacement, keep us posted.

Thank you! Yes, the engineering is magnificent. The safety engineering is unlike any other the airbag felt like some sort of silk material and there was little to no jerk from the seat belt. Upon contact the seatbelt remained tight, the sos light and phone call was immediately and automatically made (with the volume automatically being turned loud). As well, the hazards automatically came on!

So sorry to see this but very glad you are unhurt. Imagine what would have happened in an Econobox from Japan or Korea. You would have been done for.

Really glad you are OK. I agree with other posters, those who think it’s too expensive to buy or maintain don’t realize the benefits in build quality and safety. The strength of materials which limit door dings from showing, thick paint that doesn’t show a slight brush someone makes against the vehicle. My wife’s Cadillac looks worse after 3 years vs our 6 yo S Class and my daughters 10 year old GLK.
Good luck on your search. After having a W222 I did prefer the 221. The 222 triumphs with tech and refreshed appearance but I find some parts of it a little more glitchy than my 221.
