2011 Mercedes S550 - M278 main (crankshaft) bearings
I'm doing a rebuild of the M278 and can't find main bearings, the only one I found are chinese - SINOCMP and ULTRA POWER.
While I know there are no OEM main bearings, are there any from respectable manufacturers?

There is only MB main bearings for M278, you can substitute with previous generation engine from OEM vendors, however the lock on the last bearing in M278 is cut on other side to prevent it, so either you cut new key hole in block and cap, or punch new lock in replacement bearing

They are not discontinued, just replaced serial numbers, his WIS/EPC is outdated

Either way it might not work with OEM bearings because of two reasons - both block and crankshaft in stock option has deviation in diameter, that is why it has color coding in crankshaft and stamps on engine block. (color corresponds to different diameter) OEM substitution only works when you had to regrind crank (since no MB repair sizes available) and line hone engine block.

Sorry, English is not my first language and sometimes I don't quite understand the details, hence my questions.

Best solution is to go through WIS and identify marking for upper half on block and lower half on crankshaft pulley shaft and buy accordingly to color coding from MB.

Main bearing color coded
What’s WIS and how can I identify the bearing for my engine? My original bearing has two colors 2 gold and two green ( blue?). How can I find which color bearing go to which? Please help?
