S class W221 400 hybrid
I have a big problem with my 2010 S class W221 400 hybrid.
With no warning It stopped and the engine refuses to start.
I took it to a Mercedes dealer but they don’t know what is the problem but if it is in the hybrid system they told me it is a costly repair that can go up to 20.000€.
I really like my car and I have been told to use a kit to transform it in a petrol S350, overriding the hybrid system.
Any of you did this and did it solve the problem?
Can you recommend where I can buy this kit?

the hybrid cars did play up a lot - a few eastern euro guys worked out how to resolve most of them in an affordable manner (some of it is deliberate fun that can be fixed by repairing simple small electrical issues in various modules)... but there was also lots of software updates - the issue was no one really knew how to work on them (that included even the biggest dealerships) - basically the car was a rolling test mule its entire life - and they still haven't got them right - but in today's world that's OK you just release another model leaping on to current tech and forget about unhappy customers
the car is still a petrol car - I don't believe there is really a kit - just turning off some of the hybrid bits that never really worked reliably... there must be great ideas and experts on how - but they don't reside on this forum....

Perhaps this thread will interest you. It’s not easy and costs but perhaps possible. Trading the car in may be an option?

awesome business for those removing the hybrid parts - all the good parts they take off they can sell on ebay for thousands, the faulty ones they can get fixed for a 100 dollars and re sell for thousands, and the battery they can sell for multiple thousands
$8k for a 3k job and make another 8k in spares... !!! almost as disgraceful as a builder... get a bit of scrub land and force in 4 houses thrown up for 80k by min wage slaves, where it should be one decent home and a garden, knock it out for 200k - the hardest parts is paying all the bribes and scouting for more parts of the planet to ruin... all goes smoothy if you look the other way for the worse goings on by filth at the local authority...
