Hey All,

After purchasing wider tires for the car, I have decided that the next logical step in a perfect look is to lower the car. Some would call this the "European Height Level" as apparently cars on that side of the world are lower. There are a bunch of ways of lowering an Airmatic equipped Mercedes. As follows, sorted by price (high to low):
  1. MB Star Diagnostics
  2. Lowering Module
  3. Lowering Links
  4. Washer Method
I do not have an MB Star Diagnostic laptop nor would I know how to use it, so this option was the most expensive for me. Lowering Links take too long to adjust and get right, it would drive me nuts trying to use them. I tried the washer method, which is only a few dollars, but didn't even drive the car on it. I did not feel comfortable with it nor was I able to achieve my desired height.

That leaves me to my weapon of choice, a Lowering Module, which I have used in the past on my previous W218 CLS550. There are a few options on the market, however I have opted for MWMods. A little over $700 and 7 days later, it arrived. Lowering was very easy, plug in and follow instructions. After playing with the height a few times, I have settled on -22mm in the front and -24mm in the rear. The car's comfort is exactly the same, at any speed. As for cornering, the car feels more stable and it is more fun to drive aggressively.

Just check your toe in the front. It changes with changes in height.

I have 22’s on mine and used lowering links. Took me all of about 20mins to adjust ride height and it handles great.

$1400 to lower the car is expensive not to mention all the wiring. Ninja will it not be easier via Xentry?

Looks great! I like how you can adjust at will. What module did you end up with?

Thanks! That is what I like as well. I actually needed to use that feature on the spot recently where I was able to raise it instantly. This module is from MWMods.

Thank you! That was my goal as well, an OEM+ look as some would say.

and watch the sump, subframes and exhausts hold the wheels off the ground on rough surfaces = not so clever = unexpected visit to the ditches, if it does it on a high load cornering manoeuvrer

there's also U in favour

so it lets u play with any number you want? at that rate have it normal for driving and then park low

don't forget it likely alters the geometry quite badly - they spend ages playing so under x cornering stance the car turns in correctly, behaves normally, and had decent grip all round

then some hoodie rocks up puts fat wheels with the wrong outset, lowers it too much and the car is slower, dangerous, wear tyres unevenly and is generally terrible to drive - but they are happy ???

Correct, adjustable on the fly. The car already has a variable ride height program for certain driving conditions/setting. I'm good with the pitfalls of wear-and-tear, been driving lowered vehicles my whole life. It'll be fine. Drive at factory height, park/slow-roll low. It's all good

Right on. I'm in Florida. How long did shipping take for you (if you're in the US)?

Edit: 7 days in the first post and a Cali plate - sorry
Did you choose the $60 5-9 day FedEx shipping option?
And did you lower all the way? What is the maximum distance you can lower? How many mm?
