List of issues. Not discouraged as the car has 191k miles

Hello all,

been kinda of a while since I posted here as I was trying to sort no heat issue on my car. I have narrowed that down to faulty thermostat which I will be replacing. Now for the issues currently again as the title says I am not discouraged by the issues as the car is nearly 18 years old and has 191k miles on it and if you saw the car in person you would know either. The previous owner was a former member here and let’s just say that he wasn’t really knowledgeable of the car and did anything really correctly. Over the last 5 or so years I have corrected all the wrongs done and also did many upgrades including the w222 dashboard trim and vents and lastly installed the Mercedes balance air system in the glovebox. Along with other stuff. Now for my issues : all my TPMS are less than a year old and since the car has been sitting I figured that I would have errors. I cleared all the obdII codes and then started off fresh. I went on Mercedes star computer which I have and for some reason the only sensor that doesn’t register is the front right wheel. I have tried to reprogram it as I learned from watching ninjabenz and yet it still doesn’t recognize the wheel. I know there is a antenna towards the back wheel well.. is that antenna powered? Is so maybe it’s time at 191k miles to replace it? Next issue that I get Restraint system malfunction as well as pre safe which I believe is related to eachother. I know someone posted a process to fix the pre safe and I did that but that didn’t fix anything.

any help would be great. I will list the error codes in a few.

Sorry can't help with the errors but any way you can post some pics of the upgrades such as the dashboard? Also when you say the air system, do you mean the Cologne? Thanks

It’s called the Mercedes Air balance system... its fragrance that’s in all the new Mercedes and if I get a chance I will post the pictures of the upgrades.

inside each road wheel is a sensor with likely a CR322) battery - they last 9 to 12 years or so... they are throw away items (although you can hack them apart and swap the battery if brave)

fakes from china are pennies these days - autel make ones you can programme the same as the one already in the wheel and then the car doesn't need programming to match

4.4 bar is way more than 1 bar too much -oh - u have them in muppet mode

swap the front wheels (short drive) and check again - if the fault is on the other side its the wheel sensor - if that doesn't work, swap over the pick up inside the arch liner and try again

Botus,

the “pickup” is the antenna you are referring to?

You should just swap the front wheel with the rear wheel from the same side and that would give you a better idea of what you're dealing with.

Good morning,

One of my wheel sensors just stopped communicating with my car. I confirmed that it’s not actually the sensor as I used one of those tools to “wake it up” and once I did that the dashboard said please drive for a few mins to register tire pressures. Could it be the wheel sensor antenna? The sensors are about a year old.
