2007 S600
Purge control valve S600

Y58 Purge control valve on the ye old M275/S600.

Got several codes...and to be honest normally a gas cap or shoot the $60 parts cannon at it?

Same thing happened to me. I just delete the code. I also switched 180 degrees the gas cap. The seal on the gas cap always goes bad.

Thank you...that's what I figured...99% of the time its the gas cap for that stuff.

Ordered a new cap because well the other one has the "tether" broke which always annoyed me. Once that arrives will clear codes and go from there.

I used the parts canon approach. Why not? Parts are all cheap and easy to replace/clean.

Replaced cap, no go.

Purge valve on the way. In DAS I can't actuate it, so either dead valve or god forbid a wiring fault.

I'd bet it was an old clogged valve. One of the other members wrote about opening the old valve and cleaning the carbon and oil gunk. I think I would just replace it and throw the old one in the trash. Keep us posted.

We will see. It's funny after I shut everything off and post here, I think "Oh yeah, I should have checked this". It is 95F and 80% humidity. Part ordered.

Looking for a quickie o-scope tool from amazon to see/graph voltage changes across terminals for future repairs. I would like to graph if the voltages are commanded from the ecu. Don't think my multimeter can pick them up.

Now, I will not try to incriminate myself going down this rabbit hole...but I noticed an acceleration cutoff (not speed), just total lack of power when stabbing it full throttle say at around 75-80 mph after hitting it hard a couple times. I hope this is the issue.

Anyways, the ole gal was great on the past few drives.

Was the valve.

I took a semi-gamble and ordered a Beck-Arnley from Rock Auto for a tad over $30. Appears to be OEM just based on how it looks and the weight is within grams of the original.

One side had a crimp clamp which wasn't hard to remove. Fortunately, I have a stash of hose clamps.

All in all, simple fix. I was curious, but both read open with ohm meter across the terminals. But when I actuated the new one with DAS you'll know it. It fires/clicks several times a second so it is a good test.

Yeah good, it is nice not having the damn MIL on while driving. Took it for a nice lengthy rural romp yesterday and the car was perfect.
