S500 W221 2006 Is it repeable
I have a 2006 Mercedes S500 (W221). This part is located in the trunk and is responsible for the automatic trunk closing.
Does anyone know if this part is repairable? Has anyone had a similar issue before? Do you think it’s possible to weld or fix the broken bracket, or does the whole unit need to be replaced?
Thanks in advance!
Second question: Is the part itself (the piston) is intact and not broken, nothing is missing from it, right? Like a circlip, for example?

What you can do is metal bond two washers to either side of this cracked flange after you force the crack shut. Then screw the ram back on and it should hold.
this is what JB weld/araldite is for
