Just ordered my 2007 S550 replacement!!! However, I was offered a Launch car that will deliver in August. Dealer had very little details abot these cars... anybody have anything to share???

My dealer is also promising delivery in August!

 

I'd expect it to contain all options (perhaps not night vision or surround camera), and some special "Edition 1" floor mats.

 

My dealer thinks it is the badging package and other cosmetic/color items but not additional equipment.

 

Edition 1 will be designo Mocha Black, Nut Brown/Black Nappa leather with Black Poplar wood trim with Edition 1 interior exterior badging. Also included will be an exclusive 19" wheel. Packages included: P01, driver assistance, air balance, and warmth & comfort. Edition 1 will be limited to 1100 production run.

 

Don't care for the limited production run but I like the color combo (used to have the mocha designo).
I would only be interested in the car if it has the cross stitching (exclusive napa) and the amg sport bumpers/side skirts.

 

Totally forgot to just check the dealer ordering guide. Fletcher Jones told me there is to be both a white and a blue Edition 1 W222 S550. I hope so... I can't deal with another black car.


I don't think it's going to have cross stitching. It looks like it has the sport package, but who knows if it will for production. The W221 Launch Edition didn't.

 

I think the blue and white one is being offered in Europe and not coming to the US.

Yes! the US edition is Mocha Black (designo).... I ordered it because it is said to deliver in August. The only thing I care about is the Sports Package!!!! But like "MercPlease" mentioned the 07 did not have the Sports Package. My typical requirements are Capri/Lunar Blue ext. and the Sports Package with 20" wheels! Everything else is negotiable.

 

I don't think the Edition 1 has the Sport Package.

 

Agreed... I am pretty certain that the launch has standard "old man" body build with ugly wheels

 

LOL... yea the wheels are certainly lacking.

 

Was the same way with the new CLS, all were Steel Gray (only way you could get a Steel Gray CLS in 2012) with Porcelain Leather. P1/Driver Assistance/19" Wheels-Non AMG. I think there were a couple other cosmetic bits but that was the main parts of the package.
