I also think the interior lighting at 2:40 in that video looks like a cheap Strip Club. Can't believe they're using a neon purple (?) option. The interior is so old-world/old-fashioned and rich in that regard, it's very forced and tacky with those colors clashing with it, IMO.

I think the blue color option is also tacky looking, at least from a couple of the pics I saw. Personally, I like the orange and white options...and at much lower intensity levels. Otherwise, yeah, it does begin to look really tacky like a club.
I kinda think they went overboard with the LED options this time around. But hey, clearly, some people like it.

You do have the option of having a more normal color. also, with the adjustable brightness, I am sure the right balance can be achieved
There are lots of people with money that have poor taste. The purple lighting mode will keep them just at home. Luxury cars should feel like an extension of one's home. Therefore, bravo MB for accommodating all potential customers

Different people, different tastes. We can see this on this W222 forum every day 
The LED color as shown is tacky (just as tacky as the rainbow color LED's used in many swimming pools these days), but many in other countries will disagree. The effect also varies by the color of the leather.
I can select 3 colors on the SL and absolutely love the effect. Used Orange on the Red interior and Yellow of the Porcelain White.

I like it. Feels like I'm in the VIP section at the night club. Finally, a vehicle that you customize the color of the lighting inside. For those not in favor of the lighting, you can choose a different color or turn it off. Great job Mercedes! Wish every car had something like this!

wtf. the rear table does fully unfold if the front seat is too far back? you'd think mb would resolve details like that for a 6 figure car. the devil is in the details.
and why would the s-class creator even participate in such a douchey video? is this an mb promo video? this stupid video wouldn't appeal to 90% of s class buyers.

There is a small button next to the seat controls for the rear right passenger seat that can be used to push the front passenger seat out of the way. Also, the drivers seat controls has a button next to it that can be used to gain control of the front passenger seat. The driver after pressing the button can use his seat controls to move the front passenger seat out of the way if need be.

Please do not lower all S class owners to your level of compare. I can assure you that the majority of my friends and colleagues would be in no position to make that comparison.
That lighting whilst very different to my home in the country is not terribly different from our concierge at our city building or for that matter the private lounge at several airports that I use.
I am yet to decide what color lighting I shall select.

The key word here is option. Like it or buy something else. 7 different color, shut up and pick one that fits you. I love the lines on the new MB cars, at least our cars do not look like honda 100 yrd away, hint hint BMW.
