How long is it then from this red zone date to the actual build date? I think you mentioned the build date somewhere but I could not find it. Or is the build date still unknown?

Build date is January 1st (on paper), but could be built anytime up to that point. I hit the red zone November 15th. So it looks like the red zone is a month and a half from build date.

I believe your dealer can give you a more accurate production date now that you're in the "red", as that means the build has been pulled for production. If I had to guess, I would say you would see your car sooner than you imagined, which is obviously great news.

Again, this is just what I saw, I cannot say that it's true for everyone but I don't see why MB would make your build red if it weren't going into production.

I am not an expert, but I got a glance at my dealer's netstar and I saw the cars that are "red" are all in b3 or b4 status which mean that they are in the production sequence. b4 actually means that it's 2 days from complete. i also saw completion dates in the red so you can ask your dealer what status your car is in and the date associated with it.
Again, this is just what I saw, I cannot say that it's true for everyone but I don't see why MB would make your build red if it weren't going into production.

Hmm.....this makes me wonder if she was referring to the "official red" you saw, or if she meant red in terms of I just can't change my order anymore. ???
So I guess I need to ask if I'm B2, B3, B4?....

So as you said, ask your rep if it's red, if so, what's the status (b3,b4,etc) and there should be an actual date under scheduled production, instead of a decade. for instance 12/10/2013 instead of 12-1D-13.

Again, speaking only from what I know... i'm not sure there's a difference. When netstar builds go red, it means that it's further ahead in the production sequence than yellow or blue. At yellow, I can theoretically still make changes.

Ok, I'll ask my dealer if she can pull a B-status. Thanks oswiff.

I heard from my dealer. They just got their first allocation for 2 S63's, mine being one of them, production in March 2014.
Just saw this vid with the exclusive porcelain and cf.

Just got a response back from my dealer. My order is in "B-1" status. Oswiff, from what I read from your post, that would mean it's in the yellow. If so, then that would mean that there are 2 levels of yellow, a changeable and non-changeable. ??? I'm confused....

From the netstar I saw, there weren't any builds that were red that still had b1. They were all b3 or b4.

Since I don't have any specific info, let's just say that today was my first day of B1 (worst case), which would mean I would go into production Dec 15th and end production Dec 17th, and would be docking in the states right before January. Is my thinking correct?....

I asked my dealer twice about where exactly I am and how long I've been in B1. Twice, her response was just "You're currently in B1 status." As if she just skimmed the email and responded the same way twice.

So per your scenario, I would say you would see the car early January, I would say if you were very lucky a day or two before January..
If completion is the 17th, they will look to load it within a few days after that.
For example my g63 was at the dock in Europe last year on February 13th. It didn't leave that port until the 16th. It arrived in the US on the 26th and was at my dealer 2 days later.
However, if you factor in the holidays, i could see it take a few days longer.
