Production & Delivery Dates
Thought members could share information they have gotten so far as far as production dates.
I had a Nov 20 production for an s63 but a few options weren't yet available so I gave it up. I am now hoping for a Dec allocation. I know the first decade has come and gone so hopefully I'll get one in the remaining two decades of Dec. Otherwise it'll be January.
Anyone have productions dates from their dealers?

Had a production date of September 17th. I'm assuming the vehicle has been built. My dealer thinks delivery will be a week or two after launch.
On a side note, my sales rep told me that dealers were getting S550s as demo cars in the beginning of October, maybe even by the 1st. May want to check with your dealer to see if this is the case and get an early peak of the car.

I had a September 1D production date. The car was built on September 2, was loaded on a ship september 6, and arrived in Baltimore on September 20. It is waiting to be transported to my dealer. I ordered it mid-June.

Might also help members if we specified the model we are each getting (rwd, 4matic, amg) and options.
For mine:
s63 - iridium silver, black/black nappa, carbon/piano trim, 10 spoke wheels in black, steering wheel w/dinamica, splitview, heated rear seats, surround view camera, driver assistance, night view assist plus, red calipers

I would like to compare my car next to yours to see the difference between Obsidian versus black. Do you plan on picking your car up during a weekend or on a weekday?

Thanks. Yeah, they were able to push through the change via distribution fortunately. Had I decided to change it to the plain black, that would have been pretty funny. I can imagine two identical cars waiting at the front of the dealership and us confusing the two when doing the pickup. So you decided against the four place seating as well, right?

The interesting thing is when I was ordering they had no idea about the refrigerator or how it would effect trunk space along with the Burmester 3D system - now they will have 2 cars with that setup at the same time. The refrigerator option is very rare.

Went to dealer in central pa. He informed me
That if I haven't ordered a 550 yet, then I can't get one until feb. Has anyone else heard this
Or can I purchase one rite off the lot before then.

Info on the 3D Sound and Refrigerator impact on trunk space, per MB literature: 811-Burmester High-End 3D Surround Sound System dramatically reduces trunk space. If 811 is combined with the refrigerated console (308), it is not possible to put a golfbag into the trunk. With only 308, it should be possible to load 2 golfbags. 223-Electrically adjustable rear seats (in the 445pkg and required with all Rear Seat Packages), also reduces trunk space but should allow for more than 2 golfbags to be loaded.

I would say an ordered car now would probably be more of a March or April delivery.
I cannot speak towards buying off the lot. I don't know if this car will be like the newest Range Rover where even a year after introduction it's still not available off the lot. From what I understand you have to order a range rover to get one or get really lucky where a customer bails on their order.

Kratos do u think it will be next to impossible to get one off the lot anytime before the end of the year. Maybe at a bigger dealership or something. Or do u think I would be better served just ordering one now and waiting until march to take delivery.

Mine is on a ship - ETA at Brunsvick VPC - 10/7. Hopefully it gets released at the estimated release date of 10/15
