I'm just checking in case I missed something about a new port, but you mean Brunswick, Georgia, right?

I brought this up to my dealer and she is sure it's Florida. She says she also gets cars from Brunswick, but mine is not going to Brunswick. What are we missing here?.....Is there a VPC we don't know about, or will my car go to Brunswick after it hits Florida?....I'm confused.
Jacksonville is where she said it's going.

I just did a search on yahoo, and a website came up showing Mercedes indeed has/had a VPC in Jacksonville.

The southern VPC used to be in Jacksonville. But that was moved to Brunswick GA in '09. I'm not sure why your dealer is saying Jacksonville.

Can she give you the vessel name? That way you can see it's ports of call.

Ok, I'll see if she can give me the name of the ship! Thanks!

try this - https://att.2wglobal.com/gstattweb/o...ckSearchResult

put your vin under cargo ID

doesn't always work as MB uses more than one shipping company

my car was loaded in Bremerhaven on 1/16, docked in:
- Zeebrugge Belgium on 1/17
- Southampton UK on 1/18
- Santander Spain on 1/21

It looks to be leaving Santander now and the next stop is finally Baltimore on 1/31. I'm hoping it gets here sooner than that

May be news to some people, but once you get a vessel name, no need to talk with your SA until it docks in your port. Marine Traffic will give you all the info you need.

Dealer just told me she couldn't give ship name. She only see status's.
I do have the VIN so I have a 1/3 chance I could find my car with oswiff's link.

I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe she never knew they changed to Brunswick or the old sales guy told her Jacksonville when she started. No matter. Your car is going to Brunswick one way or the other (well, unless they are loaded up and they have to use Baltimore, but I guess that is rare).

I just checked my order from MB and at the very bottom of the order it states Shipping via Port of Brunswick (I'm in Florida).

Relax and enjoy the ride

Tom

I don't know your SA obviously but she's either not great at her job or lazy.

See attached - this is from my g63. This is the history of your build so to speak. On the top right, it says Shipment. Then under that you see Vessel Name.

She must be able to see this page. It doesn't go to C2 unless it's booked on an actual vessel.

Thanks Tom. She's been very good with answering all of my questions. I guess I just found it weird she didn't know....

Sorry Kratos, not my intention. I'm sure it's fine like TomS said.

She's probably just mistaken

I love you guys. Yall are making my SA step up her game. She just wrote...."Mr. Harrell, I looked harder into it and there are things I've been missing/overlooking. Your ship name is on here (Garnet Ace), and your car is going to Brunswick."

This is info I never would have gotten if not for you guys. Thanks oswiff and Tom. These forums make even our dealers better!

Good deal. Glad she was able to get the info for you.

Your car left a day after mine and will get to the east coast (albeit different ports) on the same day.

Btw, don't worry when the boat doesn't have activity for a couple days, it just means it's out of range of a signal... not that it sank!

I just converted the knots (15.8) to mph, and it calculated to 18.18mph. No wonder it takes so long to get our cars. LOL

Didn't you see 1/31 for my ETA? Now it's saying 1/30. It's moved 2 days up since the ship took off. I guess it evolves as they travel and they update it as they go......???? Did yours move up?

Mine was scheduled to arrive on 1/30 but after leaving Southampton it became 1/31. When it left santander it was back to 1/30.

I'm hoping it gains a little time in the next week, but 18 knots is what it is.

just means the vessel is out of range for the system to pick up its location. i think it's only visible on marine traffic within about 15-20 nautical miles for most ships. depending on the base station receiver it could be further out.

i suspect you will be stalking the website like me come wed/thursday
