Don't know all details but will ask. The 3year/45k miles residual is at 50%

I suggest that this should become a sticky to help members get the best price. Bimmerfest does that for BMW and the deals you can find are enormous.

Even if MB doesn't negotiate too much of the MSRP at the moment, there is a lot of room to negotiate the MF...

I heavily considered leasing this new one, but I changed my mind. I just get the feeling that the MF's are gonna be horrible because they are playing off of the hype right now.

it might not be that bad to lease. i am thinking maybe 1400 with basic drive off. I leased a 2013 for $1100 with 1k down for 24 months with 7 months early return 11 months ago.

Payment is based on residual % and Mf at the current rate. Hype does not matter.

significantly more dealer incentive on 2013. I bet there is no dealer incentive on 2014

The MF is set by MBFinancial, and they decide if they want to give a good lease support structure to the model. If MBF wants to push the sale of a car, they will drop the MF and give dealer incentives. If MBF doesn't think the car needs much push, they will place on it their highest MF. In 2008, the MF on my 221 was horrible, something like 0.00330. Then in late 2009, MBF decided the car needed a boost and MF dropped to 0.00220, and then a few months later 0.00150. Even bumped up residual to 56% in some spots, instead of the generic 51% they'll slap on it.

You are right on the MF with the exception is that most people don't know the buy rate. Think of it as the wholesale price.

The Dealer presents you with an MF that they say is MB's rate. In reality, it is the dealer rate (retail).
Dealers make good money leasing you a car even at invoice price as they keep the difference in the MF. I remember a few months ago the MF for customers with good credit was something like 0.0021 on the SL. The actual buy rate was 0.00095. You do the math!

You can negotiate your lease easily when you know the MF buy-rate since the dealer has no other response to you than "this is how we make money"

Indeed. The dealer can screw you on the rate with the MF. I am a member of a site called "ridewithg" and he's been giving me the "wholesale" rate for years with leasing. He started the site to help lease buyers from getting screwed on the MF and residual by the dealer or the leasing company. Saved a ton of people money. Now his site is being attacked by some high-ups in the game because they found out where customers were getting their edge from, and they threaten him to shut the site down.

Lease for a 105-106K S550 will run you about $1800+/month at the moment it seems. Edition one is slightly higher. Sorry do not have MF information as I'm not interested to lease at the moment. However, those of you looking for a good lease, I'd suggest waiting 3-4 months for better lease rates. I hope this info is helpful to you all.

How did you come up with 1800 plus? Did you lease one?
Thanks.

No, as I mentioned not looking to lease one. I just asked my dealer who I've known forever what the best leases were on the S550 when speaking about ordering one. Obviously those numbers are not set in stone, just thought I'd relay the info for you guys.

I believe it. When the lease rates for the 221 first came out, they were horrific. As if they thought people were too caught up in the hype to realize they were getting raped.

S550 4matic LE
was told about $1850 per month with about $8k down due at signing.
For a S550 4matic edition 1 - ready for sale now in NJ

what do you think rates will be like in a month or two?
Worth the wait right?

W221 lease rates were crappy for a while. Unless you have a tax write off benefit on a lease, it is better to buy. Especially when the car is so "hot" right now.

I disagree. What if I am not planning to drive the car for more than 3 years? Should I make twice as much payment just to turn it in in 3 years and be even on my trade-in? I`m better off with lower lease payments and in 3 years just turn the keys in do not worry about my cars trade-in value.

what is a lease that you are seeing for three years that you would consider a low payment?

I'm not gonna lease if the payment is the same or higher than purchasing. Just doesn't make sense.
