US Edition 1 - Launch Edition 14 S550
Does anyone here have details about the Edition 1 S550 for the US market? I'm hearing rumors that many options and packages are not even avail in the Edition 1 but can't seem to find the build of the car online. So far all I know is that it will be in black and priced around the 110k mark w/o the executive rear seat package.
Anyone here buy one or order one?

Here is the info for US Edition1. It is as is and not configurable.
Does any one know if sport pkg as the order guide image shows is a part of ED1 officially.
IMO the wheels are wretched

I think they used the image with the sport package just to highlight the badging. It can be pretty confusing, i.e., In one official report, they said exclusive wood trim also covered front seatbacks, however another said that was only for designo.

Well that's not what I was expecting. The previous launch edition had more options imo. My dealer wants 110k for the Edition 1 but it's missing a few options and I'm not a fan of the exterior color or the look of the non-sport styling.

I am completely new to this forum. Perhaps someone can answer my question. The lease on my 2010 S550 4Matic ended on 8/1. I was on a month-to-month extension, waiting for the 2014. My dealer in Albany [NY] claimed he didn't even have prices and couldn't get me a car until late January. I phoned what is purportedly the largest dealer on the east coast [in NJ] and they couldn't get me a car. Yesterday, I heard about several being available at a dealer in New Rochelle [NY]. I drove down and bought one, an 'Edition 1'. My question: how can one dealer not even have the prices to the car while one, a mere two hours away, have stock? Is that common? I've been buying new Mercedes since 1981 and have never encountered anything like this.

I just tried to get a car from Mercedes of Brooklyn (NY) and went there on Monday of this past week to look at the S Class. The salesman gave me his card, I gave him mine. I called him later in the day to thank him for showing us the car, and left a voicemail since he didn't answer.
I emailed him to ask him about the cars he had in stock. NO reply.
I called him the next day. No reply.
I emailed again a 3rd day. Reply: "I'll call you later"
I called the dealership's main line to ask for another salesperson.
I got a Greg on the phone who didn't seem to know what he was even talking about. I told him EXACTLY what I wanted (even gave him a stock # and it was listed on his own website). I told him of the issue I had prior with the awful communication. He apologized a few times, and told me he would look into that specific car and call me within 30 minutes with some sort of number.
No call back.
24 hours later, I call him and ask what kind of dealership are they - and he apologized and asked me how he could help me? I asked him if he remembered our conversation about the specific car I wanted to buy from their website. He said "yes the S Class".
I asked if he had the window sticker for that particular car to tell me the options. "No".
I asked him if he could get it for me now. He said "You have to come down and look at it". I reminded him that I had already done that process already and it was now a numbers thing only. He said "My department really tells me to get the customer in the door".
I asked him if he had heard what I said about 45 seconds earlier regarding already coming in. He said yes, but I was getting specific.
Amazing. You can wave $120,000 at someone and they don't want to take it.
I ended up going to MB Manhattan and finished the process over the phone within 10 minutes.
