What all comes with the top level warranty packages offered?

Be careful purchasing a non-MB warranty, which most dealers try to do. If you carefully read their 10+ page small print contract you will find: 1. They are the warranty of last resort (ie, they will pay only when the manufacturer does not), 2. No warranty is fully refundable if you do not use it (my dealer insisted that was true until he called to confirm); the refund is pro rated on months or miles which ever is largest. 3. The optional warranty does not cover anything that the manufacturers warranty does not cover. So, if you have a four year manufacturers warranty and purchase an additional five year warranty you are buying only one year of warranty, and if you sell the car at the end of four years the optional warranty company gets to keep 80% of the premiums and it cost them nothing. I am in a dispute on my last car over this, since the salesman said I got my money back if I did not make a claim. He finally agreed that THIS IS NOT TRUE. Before purchasing, read EVERY LINE OF THE CONTRACT so that you know what you are buying; and do not trust the salesperson, they want to make a sale.
Wow, I didn't think anyone was going to respond to this thread. It seemed like this was a taboo subject or something. Thanks so much for posting this, and I will definitely beware of these issues. Great info! So much scamming going on! Thanks Steve.

This is sage advise above.
Thanks
Well my strategy is going to be simple then......get the lowest interest rate possible, and buy NO extras....

I agree with you 1000% on all you said. They want to sell and will say anything. Thats why I am very wary of these

Warranties are a great way to make money for those that sell them,
The only warranty worth buying is the factory one and aim for 50% off the original price they give you. I did it but I plan to keep this car a long time.

I have purchased one on my 2008 S63 I had, a Continental Warranty and in the first 2 months the car was over $10k in repairs! SO GLAD I BOUGHT IT for whatever it cost, I think about $5k.
Got one for my 2012 S63, glad I did... I owned the car for 2 years, had multiple issues with the car and it had value left on it so I rolled it into my 2018 S63. I now have a Continental 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty. I plan to keep my car for at least 10 years, I love it to death and am so glad I have this warranty. I'm sure, over time, it will MORE than pay for itself. My car was $188385. I'm sure stuff will go wrong with it over the 10 years that will make this worth it. I bought it from the dealer I service it at and it cover most everything... they love me there and fight for me whenever there is any push back from Continental. Your mileage and situation may vary greatly from mine.

Hi Stever500,
is that warranty sold by MB or is it a private company? I’m assuming private?

I bought it at my MB dealership. They recommended it and said they cover most everything that could go wrong. And... over the years they sure did.
