A mini-S, how cute is that! ![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)
There might be some exterior styling cues and lines but the pics for the C are lacking the grand/majestic presence of the S. And the interior is an entirely different environment from the S.
Don't see the basic styling similarities as being a problem. Actually I like having the similarities. I don't drive a car based on what others think, I like to de-badge a car to leave most people wondering what it is. I like "sleepers". I like cars to be seen for the style and design they have and not what a label says it is. If someone can't tell an S from a C without looking at a label then why would I care if they thought I had a C? My worth as a person is not tied to the badge on my car.
A car is just transportation, in the case of the S it is a living room on wheels, but still just transportation.

Those of us that don't have the resources to purchase a W222 and don't need such a large car are thrilled that the W205 provides us with the opportunity to own a mini-Sclass. They are very different class of cars in terms of every measurable attribute and that is reflected in the price difference. I can't wait for it to come out. Planning to see it at the NAIAS.

How dare you refute the all knowing wisdom of self proclaimed experts on the topic. Search mini-S class if you don't know what I am talking about.

Let's not forget the self-proclaimed experts that will NEVER, EVER have an S-Classe in their garage. Their advice is exactly what we should be taking ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
My wife said I might not want to pull up to someone in a smaller MB and say, "Awww, what a cute little baby Mercedes". I understand that might sound condescending and aloof. Who knew?

Absolutely IMO. The S' exclusivity and presence will be ruined by looking like a large C Class. I don't know what M-B was thinking, not even Audi or BMW do a "copy/paste" like this and M-B needs to preserve the strength and specialty-factor of the regarded S Class. It won't bode well for the model once there are zillions of C's owning that look, IMO.

I think we have figured out K-A's issue.... Blindness!
Maybe he's sore that his car is a damn near identical but cheaper derivative of the 7... And Audi doesn't do this? The A4-A8 all look damn near the same... Handsome, but the same!

I agree with you on the A4. I've got the A8L in the picture below. Whenever I see an A4 approaching, I always mistaken it for the A8.
The 5 Series interior is an exact replica of the 7 series. Its what the manufacturers do.

Really like the baby-Mercedes - I do not need a huge car, and I am happy Mercedes is back to styling good looking cars and feel a bit special. The new C-class in my view is desirable, and that it what every Mercedes should be.

I have never liked seeing thousands of C's that look like S's.
The new S is so nice that MB should have been more sensitive to their own company view.... that the New S is intended to be exclusive, with or without a badge.....
"The look" should not be dulled by frequently seeing the same "look" on thousands of $30k cars
IMO
