Windsheild Wiper Blade Snapped right off the car...
Went to my local car wash - didn't do anything different. Been going there for 15 years.
During the car wash, I could swear I heard a snap noise. As the guy was drying the car off, he picked the blade right up off the inside of the panels.
Emailed the pictures to the dealer.

Sorry to see that glitch , judging by the design of the blade I think yours is same as R231 SL .I forgot what MB calls them a special system squirts water to the windshield using blades rather than fixed nozzles perched onto the hood or scuttle .
If this is the case then all such types could be probe to being snapped off in comparison with the conventional blades
If your car don't come with that equipment as I stated above please disregard this post

yes........ it is the type that sprays from within the blade assembly.
appears that the wiper curtain may grab the blade...
if the w222 design does not mesh with the wiper curtain, we will see this again.

That would be my guess as to why you have a hostility tone in ya.
Relax dude, it's Friday.
Of course it's my fault for getting a car wash. I deserve death.
Damn...unbelievable aggression. No problem...I don't post here often and will definitely not post in the future. I'm getting the hell outta here. Oh and if....you ever take your car to a detailer have him show you the damage the carwash has caused. I'm a 10 year+ hobbyist with 2 black cars. Now you guys can go f**ck yourself's.

I have taken my E55 to my local carwash for 7 years now... Not once has the carwash broken anything off of my vehicle. And honestly, I could care less if it swirls/scratches the paint... Hell, the damn thing hasn't been washed in 5 months now and has mud caked to the sides from doing some 360s in a wet field a couple of months ago. And I don't mean a few splash marks just by the wheel wells... I mean caked all over the sides... My 2012 Bentley Continental SuperSports... Same story... Take it to the local carwash as well... Never had anything break off of it either... It hasn't been washed in months either... Except by the rain and mud puddles which I purposely hit to see how big of a splash I can make...

I have had 2 black cars for over 10 years also. And I don't need to go to a detailer, i do paint correction just fine on my own.
Should someone wish to use a carwash, thats their business. A few swirls on the nanoclear are no big deal to remove. Some people have better **** to do than hand wash their car every time its dirty.

We are all pretty sure that MB does not design for "carwash use", however, the blade should not have broken if the wiper curtain was functioning correctly.

This is quickly turning into a Nissan or Honda Civic forum. Seems like an improperly installed wiper blade or maybe it had a crack when it was being installed. Seeing that you drive an S Class, I'm sure the dealership will have no issue serving you and installing a new blade on the car at no cost. Just out of curiosity just how fast do you get that beast up to in NYC? I can do up to 120kph here on the highway when commuting but I wish I could go faster
Also, I hand wash my old C280 every 2 weeks

Agree with all that this is an easy fix that dealer will take care of it. I can't imagine that too many S owners actually wash their own cars by hand or only use detail shops for a hand wash. Even then the same thing would have happened. I think my point is that I am sure this was not your fault. If the S actually had a wiper that was not made to be picked up off the glass as all hand wash and hand dry car washes do, your dealer would have told you to be careful with that. I have a new 7 and had a 2007 S550 and wash my cars every week and never had this happen.
