Has anyone been able to figure out what the upgrade is when you go from the exclusive nappa leather interior to the designo exclusive nappa leather interior for the new S class.

designo Deep Sea Blue is the same leather quality as the Exclusive Nappa Leather. For MY15 there are two new Semi-Aniline leather interior options: Silk Beige/Satin Red Pearl and Silk Beige/Titanium Grey Pearl. These are Aniline Leathers which are a higher quality than Nappa. They also have the different seat patterns.

I agree, but what else are you getting with the designo that you don't get with the exclusive nappa. I am certain there must be some other design/leather feature to the designo option otherwise it would be meaningless.

Here are some pics for you to compare I got off the Germany build your own. The new Semi-Aniline interiors include the seat with full diamonds, buttons, special edges etc. The Deep Sea Blue has the same leather and look of the Exclusive Nappa, but it has designo badges, designo floor mats.

Thank you very much. This is a huge help. The Semi Aniline also look like the new S600 seats. Do you think the S550 will also come with this interior if you order the Semi Aniline.

The Deep Sea Blue looks like the designo but is the Semi Aniline a new type of designo option and different from the regular designo like the Deep Sea Blue? Sure seems it.

Thanks again for all your help.

No problem, the Deep Sea Blue is designo, but you are correct that the Semi-Aniline is a cut above the Deep Sea Blue designo in terms of design. The S600 doesn't actually have the Semi-Aniline interior standard, it has Exclusive Nappa standard (looks like the Deep Sea Blue pics). The S550 and S600 will have the cool interior with the buttons and diamond stitching on the whole seat if you order designo Semi-Aniline.

I got the quilted leather on my order and think it looks great.....but wow, the Designo looks amazing! it's everywhere!
I did also consider the deep sea blue but didn't like the contrast (as shown above).....

I saw/sat in the Deep Sea Blue car in Germany. That's the German Edition 1 (launch edition model). Stunning car to be sure.
Felt overall much more luxurious than the demo in the US with standard Nappa.

I am somewhat unsure of the anilin version. Very luxurious to be sure, but I would need to get used to the border around the diamond stitching and the diamond stitching on the armrests. I think that will actually look better in the coupe.
