I have an iridium silver 2015 S550 on order with the crystal gray/sea shell gray exclusive napa with the metalized ash and it looks nice in that combination. I want a light interior as I will be using the car in south Florida. I guess everybody has different tastes, but for me the metalized ash works nicely.
In the car that I saw it was paired with the Silk color seats. It just didn't look right, but I do think with the gray interior it would be a lot better. The exterior of the car was Obsidian Black and the color combo just did nothing for me.
Searching on some older threads for more info on the 550 came across this thread. Anyone who's ever been in this 550 loves this interior combo and so do wife and I. pics added....
I have a 2017 S550 with the crystal gray/sea shell gray interior and the metallized wood. Exterior is Selenite Gray. I think the interior looks great and it's one of the reasons I selected this particular car and a reason why I haven't traded it in on a new one yet. The drawback is that the carpet is the same crystal gray as the leather, which is a terrible thing in Illinois winters. Mercedes no longer makes carpeted floor mats in the darker gray color, but I did find Weathertech all-weather rubber mats that look good, fit perfectly, and are nearly an exact match to the darker sea shell gray on the dashboard.
