Euro effect on MB pricing for 2016 models
Last year when I traveled to Europe one Euro was $1.36.
Now as you all know it's dropped 30% vs the strong dollar and expected to go to par in the next few months.
So for all of you who were around long ago to see this happen I have a question.
Will we see some special deals come about or will MB reap a great deal more money from us purchasing a new car?
Many years ago when the dollar bought more MARKS (german currency for the young ones) MB had some sweet deals.
It would be nice if we could go to Germany and purchase a USA model with EURO's

I'm new to posting. Have no idea how to reach the group
I've posted a few messages. Mostly concerning the s class.
I must be doing something wrong.
My last message had to do with the euro vs dollar.
Since last year our purchasing power has increased 28-30%.
Years ago when the Mark was low MB had some sweet deals because of it.
Anyone on the MBW expect anything to offset the low Euro or is MB just going to reap tons of money from future MB buyers?
I would like a fully equipped 222 at less than $100K.
P.S. Owned 16 MB's over past 48 years and 10 S class's.
I hope someone see's this message.

Welcome. You should create a new thread instead of posting to a thread that has nothing to do with the topic. Others can then respond to specific questions...
Quick response to your questions:
Fully equipped 222 for under $100k = New; will not happen. Used; of course.
The strong Dollar will not have no impact on the US pricing. Certainly not in the short-term.
When the Euro was strong, prices were stable and exchange rate losses were offset by increased sales prices in smaller markets (including Germany) to maintain market share.
Now profit margins for US sales will simply increase for MB.
Purchasing power can only increase if you buy a US-market S-Class in Germany and directly export it. This can't be done via any US dealer.
Except for sale to military personnel, I am not familiar to get that done in Europe without a middle man or to avoid MB's imposed export restrictions (which also exist in the US).
I think you will see the potential savings shrink rapidly.
I am referring to new cars here...

I got the delivery of my 2018 S560, and in the trunk I found;
1. An ashtray
2. A lightning to USB cable
3. A mini-USB to USB cable
4. Fragrance in a flakon.
5. Fragrance sample set
6. Two head pillows for the rear seats
7. A large pillow, which I now understand is for the rear right calf rest?
8. Two remote controls for the rear entertainment
9. Two headphones (did not open them yet, not sure whether wired or wireless).
10. Two first aid kits (not sure whether they are trying to tell me something with two, as I was expecting only one...).
11. Tow hook.
Not sure whether I am missing something...
