W222 What's in your trunk? (here nothing except a tow hook)

Hey Guys:

Just took delivery of a 15 S550 complete with runflats. There is no spare tire in trunk obviously.

However, in the trunk, there is a black foam tray with approx 3 compartments in it. In the left compartment there is a tow hook. The rest of the compartments are empty.

Is there supposed to be anything else in the tray such as a jack or air pump? Did anyone get anything more than just a tow hook?

Only other accessories in the trunk were first aid kit and license plate holder.

Will post pic of tray later if needed.

Thanks!

My '14 S550 4matic came with just the tow hook as yours did. The tray is used around the world where (I am guessing) some countries do not use run flat tires and a little air pump and tire sealant would go in those slots in the tray.

Interesting. I asked my salesperson directly if I'd be getting a jack & a lug wrench with my on-order 2015 S550 4Matic and she said "yes".

The truth will be told when your car is delivered.

If your car is sold in the US and it has run flat tires, you will not get a jack or a lug wrench.

You're probably right.

Canada is just a short drive from where I live, and the jack & lug wrench is available there.

That the tray mounted at the top of the trunk for?

I've seen it in photos on some w222's? Any photos of it pulled out?

Well not whole bodies. I can't get more than a few parts in there at a time. Mercedes wasn't really thinking this through...

It actually works pretty good. I just find if you slam the brakes the assembly moves forward with a thud.

Bump....
Received my S550 last week, and was surprised to learn that you don't get the first aid kit that usually comes with all Mercedes. There are straps on the right side of the trunk that look like a first aid kit bag would be strapped to.

Also, I'm in Canada and also didn't get anything in the trunk aside from the tow hook. No jack or wrench.

My W222 came with the standard first aid kit - that should definitely be included

Thanks. Emailed our SA already asking about it. I thought it should have been a standard item. Every Mercedes I've bought came with one, even a lowly GLK back in 2010.

Correct, except if the car comes with the option 634 (deletion of first aid kit). Perhaps even in that case, just no first aid kit from the factory but the kit is included later (adaptation to the local market).

If missing, someone must have stolen it before delivery.

Canada does some weird stuff. I've heard of this before. Probably cause of your good healthcare, they figured you didn't need it.

Yes it should have come with the first aid kit strapped to the right net.

Datacard on my car does show SA code 634 ("DELETION - FIRST AID KIT"), but an English/French labeled kit was placed in the vehicle before delivery.

I believe what you think is the pillow for the front seat is actually a pillow for the calf rest at the passenger rear seat. Once the calf rest is deployed, the pillow goes onto that.

Does anyone know what changes are made for the 2016 s class.
Engines, technology, body styling etc.

I did hear that the 2016 s class will be able to point out speed limit changes.
