Possible Issue with Mercedes Manhattan - Frontal Damage
Glad to hear they will take care of it.
WOW! This would have made me so mad. In fact, I am in the Pittsburgh area and get to New York City periodically. I fly mostly but take my car once in a while. In fact I have considered a purchase in the past from MB Manhattan. NO MORE. This would **** me off beyond belief. The least they can do is fix it. The fact that it appears they covered this up is simply FRAUD. I would NEVER trust them again based on what you have explained and the photos listed.
P.S: Watch the video... I bet they may know photoshop but premiere good luck.

I wish I paid attention in Digital Design at Parsons.
When I asked to see the video Lexus was like "oh, I'm sorry its been overwritten already" I then look at the camera system and say its a swann and should only re record every 7 days with 720P and the amount of cameras you have". Sure enough I raised a lot of #**# and got to see the video. Watched some guy hit the wall with my car! Upgrading to a S550 in a year or two hence my participation on this board.

If I was not 100% sure that this damage occurred here - I'd not say a word. Since I drove from the dealership directly home (and did not randomly hit a white wall along the way) - I really would never have brought it up to the dealer since I would understand their point of view.
I know when something is our fault. My mom scuffed her A8L wheels against the curb near the house. It came back from the dealer with the scuff that was on there - and my mom wondered where it came from. But I knew it had come from her driving. I even know where it was scuffed on the pavement.
I don't need to go and fight for something if I can't be sure. I don't pick a battle unless I know I'll be in the right. To find out later you were wrong after you put up the fight has to be the most embarrassing thing in the world - and I never want to be in that position.
That's why I called the dealer to say I was certain this was on their property. It's probably one of their drivers who made a stupid mistake and had they come to me honestly - I'd say what you all would say. "Mistakes happen. Fix it - and we will call it a day" Anyone that would go nuts over something like that shouldn't be behind the wheel in NYC to begin with.
But I should have known 1 hour delay - something was up. That was my fault, and I accept full responsibility for being stupid and thoughtless.
Nevertheless - I'm glad the bumper is going to be fixed. I love the car - and take good care of it - great care actually.

I hope they will repair this car because they know a mistake may have happened on their part and someone didn't want to man up.
Can't blame the entire dealership on that front. I know mistakes can happen - and obviously with regards to the other claims on this thread - if it turns out to be true - that's horrible.
I personally can't attest to any of that because I'm not an expert on digital media - and thus can't put in my own opinion since I am trying to keep myself on a fact basis scenario.
One thing I'd REALLY prefer is if my loaner car doesn't have to be a C Class or GLK.

She saw the box right away. She outlined it in red and saved it as a new file. She said he can clearly see the box put over the image...I need to speak with the dealership Monday morning when I go in with the car.
Do you guys see this?

On the right is the dealer's photo from camera. On the left is my photo taken from a decent distance then cropped. (NOT AN UPCLOSE SHOT)
Where is my parking sensor? Or the panel seam between the fender and the bumper?

What I don't understand is why they just don't fess up right away. It would have been a much better experience to tell us, hey, we messed up. Mistakes happen, but denying it makes it worse.

I wish I were an expert - however the experts tell me it is.
I printed out the pictures and will ask them on Monday why theres a square box in the picture that has a different shade of silver INSIDE the box vs outside - where is my parking censor? and where is the seam between the fender panel and the bumper panel.
All legit questions and concerns. I'd like answers.
I don't know why they would like and treat you like this after 14 years. A simple bumper refinish like this is dealer cost of $300 range. Not really gonna make them bankrupt. I am sure they made alot more than $300 off you in 14 years! total BS! But fraud and mistrust will cost them alot more than that eventually. I would escalate this especially being a company owned dealer and not a franchise. is this "the best or nothing"?
I hate valet / having others handle my car. I once was in ATL at the westin and my car got bb gun shot in their parking garage where the passenger window broke. The Valet service said they were not responsible, they only cover the car when they are driving it, not while it is parked and they are not inside the car. wtf? The hotel did take care of it after alot of back and forth. I hate Valets. I now hate MB of Manhattan

Did they not mention that or show you the photos? Right after you leave service you stop at a red light, your car door jam sticker is scanned, pictures are taken and then the light turns green...
I believe Matthew is a trustworthy guy but whoever damaged your car and the person who edited the video and another persons who is involving in this should be charged at all .That's fraud and they also put their employers name in jeopardy
.This is not just lie ,this is more terrible than this I think the driver was chickened out and seized by panic so is the video editor . If these rotten apples are not thrown away by MB of Manhattan their job and dealership could be dragged into the mud as well .
You can give a chance to these guys but is there a guarantee such a similar incident will not happen again to someone else

They already have a bad press here ,hopefully we don't hear anymore terrible mistakes from them so they should learn their lesson and owe you a big thank and gratitude
Valet parking is another story , I was gonna say that as well.
