What kind of gas mileage are you guys seeing?
Coming from a 2008 CL63 I was expecting my mileage to be quite noticeably better. That car got around 14 around town and about 21 at best on highway. Average over the years was 17.
Granted that a) mileage isn't THAT important to me and b) I know car is still in break-in period…I'm still surprised to be getting 11 around town and max of 22 on highway. (First tank avg was 12, mostly around town; 2nd tank avg 20, mostly highway).
I keep it in Eco mode 99% of the time.
Also, I'm a little disappointed to have 21.1 gal capacity instead of 23.8. While MPG isn't that important, I do really like having range.
Did you guys have numbers this low early on? At what point did it improve?
Thanks

I was initially disappointed in the mileage as you have stated with my '14 S550 4Matic. I typically have gotten 15 to 16.5 mpg in a combo of city/highway driving. My '08 S550 4Matic got better mileage in the combo driving. My '14 gets better mileage on longer trips however. I have averaged 25.5 to 26 mpg on longer trips such as 300 miles on a one way trips from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia using Distronic Plus. I have the Sport Package with 19" wheels.
I think there is a bigger disparity/range in my '14 S v. my '08 S in the driving styles. The "harder" I drive the '14 the worst the gas mileage is while the easier I am on the accelerator the better the gas mileage is. On my '08 the "harder" driving did not provide as much disparity in the worst to best mileage. Just one person's 2 cents.

Converted from l/100km, I get pretty much 11-12 mpg in the city and when I'm lucky (but rarely) 13 on the S63 (and that's in eco and rarely going over 2000 rpm). I get around 19-20 mpg in the city for my Bluetec and 25-26 mpg on the highway.

As to why I am getting much better gas mileage than most of you, I can only speculate. Yes, I do drive on ECO mode, but I'm thinking that the standard 18 inch wheels that I have are better for gas mileage. I also try not to gun the accelerator. In the city, I typically average around 17-18 mpg. Btw, I was very careful not to drive aggressively or at the same speed for too long a period during the first 1000 miles and maybe that has helped with the gas mileage. On highway travel now, I usually drive at between 70 and 80 mph depending on the speed limit. I usually go about 5-8 mph above the speed limit.

6.1 litres/100 km should convert to some 38,5 miles per US gallon.

Basically, I get 19.1-20.4 l/100km on the S63 and 9.4-12.5 l/100km on the ML320....so sad

Do you all look at your efficiency rating or your trip mileage? I'm trying to figure the best route to get to work, so I consult mine. I think I do the best if I don't have to stop. I only have a 7 mile commute to work. One route has speed limits of 35 and 25 mph, but there are fewer stops.

I don't think I have ever looked at the efficiency rating. I'll need to study it.

I have 20 inch tires. I get 16 mpg city and 24 highway.
Always in ECO and I rarely drive over 75 on highway.
Car has 5000 mikes on it now. I regularly get 23-24 mpg on highway and just had a very long trip where it got 25.8.
I suppose she needed to get broken in...

then again you have that AMG handy
