Great gas mileage

I haven't posted anything here for quite a while but I thought I would show you proof of the kind of gas mileage I get with my 2014 S550 with standard wheels. I was driving from eastern MA to Akron, OH yesterday. After I gased up in far northeast PA I reset the gas mileage. I apologize for the poor photo but that's obviously a reflection of of the flash on the driver info screen. But you can still see the details. You must admit that 29.4 mpg for 381 miles is pretty damn good. I sometimes get even better gas mileage than that depending on wind conditions.
As you can see my average speed was 69 mph since the reset.

On my former 2009 E320 Bluetec I can get over 40 mpg. On my 2014 S550 I can't get over 24 mpg @70 mph. I do have less than 2K miles on the clock, maybe it needs more break in. Oh I do have 20" run flats.

Day 1: 450 miles:: 22.5 MPG, light rain for 6 hours
Day 2: 480 miles:: 23.2 MPG, perfect weather
Day 3: 460 miles:: 24.0 MPG, perfect weather
I am assuming that the engine and tranny are simply loosening up as the mileage increases.

I did get my S just about fully loaded, minus the four place seating and the sports package. But I can't believe the options would add that much weight.
Irrespective of that, my total mileage is around 3800 thus far. Yep, been a bit of a garage queen but going to change that soon enough.
My 2008 E550 does 27-29mpg on this same route.

Guys, yesterday I drove all day from Akron, OH to Des Moines. I reset it after I had driven about 50 miles. On this photo you see the results. I even had a light head wind for the first half of the trip but it then turned into a bit of a tail wind the second half.
I forgot to check it out at the pump. Maybe it is a little optimist but it's still pretty awesome. I can drive for at least 600 miles on one tankful.
I now have 9500 miles on the car--just about ready for the 1st A Service.
