Change Out RUN FLATS to WHICH Conventional Tire?
I finally broke down and ordered a new S550 sedan. First order of business once it arrives, will be to remove the run flat tires and replace them with conventionals. I got 18" wheels and am thinking Bridgestone Serenity tires, since I have had them before and they are silent & comfortable. Has anyone here made the switch from RFTs and if so, what brand/style did yo go with? My priorities are safety, comfort & a quiet ride. Thanks!

I'm sure you are right, but my feeling is that no matter how nice the car rides with RFT, it will ride even better on conventionals and ride quality is everything to me. I will probably never be far from a large metro area in this car, MB Roadside or AAA should always be available. However, just to make sure, I plan on having one of those electric pumps with the sealant can in my trunk, just in case. All that said, I will give the RFT a brief tryout to see what I think, but I have had them before and have always hated them.
I went with Michelin pilot a/s. If you don't need all seasons then I'd go for super sports or pilot 3's. I'm a big fan of Michelin, in my opinion they are the best...
