****S550 or GL550???? HELP ASAP!!!!!****
Hello, I'm new to the site and to MB. I'm having trouble deciding on the 2015 S550 or the GL550.
S550: Super new technology, the most innovative I've seen on the streets - I LOVE IT! I would get white with black interior (leave the pink or purple mood lights on). This is a really nice car!!!
GL550: I always love SUV's more (had a RR Supercharged prior)! However, after driving the 2015 S550 the interior technology is night and day compared to the GL550. THAT is my only hesitation that the GL technology is extremely outdated in comparison to the S. I do love the space, can put groceries, baby stroller etc. in the trunk and leave the 3rd row down at all times, unless I ever need it. I put a deposit today since there are plenty of S550's but the white w/black interior GL550 there is only one.
Need help deciding big time!!! Which car do you like better? Would you go for a really nice, newest technology or would you go for space, practicality in the SUV but old technology? They are around the same price so that doesn't matter to me.
I will be stuck with it for 2-3 years!!!

Have never owned a GL but numerous ML diesels. Now we have 2015 S550. They both serve a purpose, for ride quality and looks S class hauling stuff people etc GL. We had the same problem although we are now basically empty nesters. To solve our problem we did it with two S class for trips RR Evoque around town grocery store etc. for larger items mine is F250. This set up works well for us
As for new technology what is on street today is already out of date so do not be swayed by that. Buy what feels right to you and serves the best purpose not what others think or say.
In being totally honest my non work vehicle is a 911 not very practical but a lot of fun

For me S550 it's day and night difference look at the amazing technologies and the gorgeous interior and you will never think again about the GL.
But if you feel the S550 will not do your purpose of buying a car then go for the GL

1) Have you began experiencing the effects of puberty? Deeper voice, hair in odd places, etc.
2) Do you really believe a car should be purchased because of what someone says in a poll?
3) Referring to this transaction as "Being stuck with a vehicle for 3 years" tells me perhaps you should be driving another manufacturers vehicle.
My suggestion...like OMG!

2015 GL550
As previously mentioned, I am new to this site and to MB!!! No, this is not a child. I am female, with a baby on the way. My husband is trying to convince me to get the S550 (which I love the innovative interior technology and the look of the exterior a lot) however, I do also have to consider my needs and the upcoming baby with the necessity for enough space as well. As a first time mommy, just wasn't sure if the S550 will provide all of that with the back seats + trunk space comfortably. Thus, sacrificing the aesthetics and go for my gut telling me GL550!!! This will be my car and I'm the driving it after all...
This poll is definitely not the deciding factor by any means but at least it is helpful for me in getting outside opinions aside from the sales guy and my husband as I was leaving the dealer when I wrote this post.

I don't think the S-Class rear seats can't be enough for your needs (child seat) the rear seats are much better than what the GL offer but the GL has the adavangate of the 3rd row.
The trunk can be big enough if you don't tick the fridge option.

The S550 has a minuscule trunk for such a big car. If you will be anything like my younger daughter--who now has three girls--when she had her first child, you will NEED a vehicle with more cargo space, for the modern strollers, etc. If you are going MB, go with the ML or GL, not an S.

Thank you everyone for all your input! Yes, the modern Bugaboo strollers are very huge! I definitely need the space (not cramming) and to feel secure driving it.
I'm very excited!!! They just delivered my car and I'm so glad I went with the GL550 and not the S my husband & sales guy was trying to convince me to get! I absolutely LOVE it, technology is not as advanced as S but is totally fine and most importantly I feel very secure in it!!!!
