That is very unfortunate, I hope they replace the car for you with a new one and compensate you for this unsatisfactory service.

Good luck

Sorry to hear that. What problems are you having specifically?

I have just over 11,000 miles on my '14 S550 4matic. So far it has been a great machine. In the spirit of full disclosure, I have had two problems. My brakes squeaked while going in reverse on cold mornings--MB replaced all four sets of brake pads under warranty. Additionally, I had an issue with the leather driver's seat that had a defect in it. MB replaced the leather seat cover. Since MB covered these under warranty, I am a happy camper.

Please be specific in any problems you may have had since it does none of us any good if you are not specific. Forgive me if you have already listed them somewhere else on this site.

I know what's happening with MB: they are trying to be everything to everyone on the entire planet! They are expending so many precious engineering and other human resources on so many different vehicles, that quality, customer satisfaction and customer service across the entire product line is suffering.

One huge problem is that they are playing games, building complete new classes of entry level vehicles, more suited to wear VW or Nissan badges, just so they can meet CAFE standards, while still offering ultra high performance cars under the AMG banner.
I'm not saying that they shouldn't make AMG cars, but GEEZE! If they can't do everything that they do to the standards they are famous for, then it's time to take a step back and to figure out just who they are and what they need to do to get back to their roots.

This experience outlined here is just NUTS and something I would expect from a company several tiers below that of the 3-Pointed Star. Give 'em hell Yusef!

as i wrote in the email
they can`t fix the sun roof nor get the window Gasket fixed 11 weeks after buying the car defective
after spending this kind of $$ on the car you expect it to work right off the lot
i did give them time they FAILED now they pay for the consequences IMO

My experience with buy backs is that once they have made the decision to go that way, they will usually make you whole and not nickel & dime you. They know they have stepped in it big time, so if they are going the buy back route, I think you will be quickly and fully compensated. They want you to remain a customer. There are not too many folks out there buying $160K+ cars and every one counts.

well here`s where it gets interesting I won`t remain a customer
they don`t have any more edition 1 s550 coupes to offer and thet`s the only model i actually wanted
so they`re buying back and losing a customer
do you have any idea how the buy back actually works ? do they just pay off the loan and get the car back ...etc ?

My experiences have been with Chevrolet, BMW and Lexus. In cases where the car was virtually new and used very little, they just took the car back and wrote me a check for my out of pocket. In other cases, where the buy back happened after many months of driving the car, it was pro-rated, but I always felt that I was treated exceptionally well, considering the situations. My buy backs had to do with a '97 Corvette, a '96 Lexus LS400 and several BMW 12 cylinder cars.

Please be specific in any problems you may have had since it does none of us any good if you are not specific. Forgive me if you have already listed them somewhere else on this site.

Well...let's start:

1.Right mirror fault ( glass not heating , motor not working )
2.Rear left handle light not working
3.After replacing the rear left handle light , the front left ( driver ) light stopped working
4.Rear left LCD motor not working ( you know that when you incline the driver seat , the LCD also moves )
5.Panoramic Roof gasket got lose ( they fixed it by putting some glue )
6.Trunk gasked lose ( still not fixed )
7.An error was found on the gearbox
8.Right tweeter light faulty ( I have Burmester 3D , and it has light on the tweeter )
9.Central radar,rear bumper, faulty ( replaced )
10.If I drive on a bumpy road ,the front seats do all sort of noises ( they said that the leather is too soft , and it squizes or something like that )
11.Front distronic heater ( I think ) has the nickel inside cracked

^^ That's it? MBUSA will say you are exaggerating.

Jokes aside, but that is not acceptable even in Kia Sorento SXL

I have a Kia Sorento SXL and it had zero problems. Until I figured out my wife was forgetting to go to the service appointments I set up for her and she went 75,000 miles without an oil change... Now we've got problems...

Oops, sorry no pun intended. Great cars ,the only thing which bothers me is the name "KIA", somehow I always associate with "Killed In Action". Can't help it.

Person in Central TX just took delivery of his new S Coupe and on way home took large rock in windshield destroying it. Took two months to get the windshield from Germany. MB paid him 2K and a loner car until repair was made at no cost to him.

yusef2009,

Now that you removed your original post, do you mind if we ask you to share some more information on where it all stands and whether or not everything was resolved to your satisfaction?

Having that many buy backs, manufacturers should have you on a no sell list.

I'm fussy. I'm picky. I spend a lot of money on cars, have purchased/leased almost SIXTY, brand new cars--for personal use--and I INSIST that they do what the manufacturer says they will. And, of all the buy backs I've been involved with, I had a lawyer involved only one time. In most cases, it was the manufacturer who ASKED to buy the car back. Anyway, never had such a problem with MB and hope I never do.
A lot of folks out there suffer and live with expensive vehicles that don't function properly. I just don't understand that.
