Traffic sign assist inoperable

I get a "traffic sign assist inoperative" message every time I start the car. It used to work at one point, but now I always get the message and it didn't fix itself ever (even after restarts).
All other systems that seem to rely on the same cameras work ok. But not traffic sign assist.
Can anyone help ?

Is it possible that is because I live in Iran which my car navigation system does not work here ?
