2016 Build Options Questions
I am sold on the S500 and having a 2016 built. A few questions:
19 vs 20 AMG wheels Seems ride may a be a bit better with 19"s as more sidewall. I have a Porsche 991s so already have my sports car. Night View + I would appreciate the sharing of experience. We have had it on last three cars and being in late 60's like the safety feature it offers. We get a lot of idots who cross AIA in Fl at night. We are doing Sport Package. Also NAPA versus Standard leather?
Thank you

2012 Porsche 991 Carrera S, 2012 Audi A8 L, 2014 Audi Q7
Funny! For a second I thought it was one of my posts, I forgot about.
I too have a 991 S and an A8L. The Audi is going to be replaced by the S550 2016. I always wanted to put the 20' double spoke, which I find beautiful, but after reading the posts on this forum, I will go with the comfort and get the standard 18'.
The Night Vision works well (tried it on a rental in Europe), but unless you have a lot of wildlife, which I do not in NY, I think it wouldn't get used much.
Thank you and my apologies to the veterans of this forum for replying, even though I still don't have my S550...

There are numerous comments on this forum about wheel size preferences and run flat vs. conventional tires. I am also a previous Porsche owner and selected 20" wheels with runflats for the S550. I think the larger size rims look better on such a large car. just my opinion. Some members like the softer ride of 18" wheels, so it is a matter of preference. We have the worst roads in the nation here in the Northeast so you do need to be careful to avoid pot holes and other irregularities in the road surface. I have no problem with the ride quality or noise factor with the 20's. Had night view my previous Benz but rarely used it. Was a good wow factor when showing others who hadn't experienced it before. I would definitely recommend the Napa leather upgrade. It makes the luxurious interior even more so. Good luck with your purchase.

in regards to the night vision, I think it's a great feature: the way it illuminates objects, as well as flashing them, is a very handy ability to have while driving, much better than before, and it's auto too, I'm still not sure if the pedestrian actually see's the car flashing them![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
I ordered my car with 19's, but got aftermarket 20's and am happy with them, hope I never have a flat.......because I'll be stuck waiting![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
the sport package is nice IMO, but needs slightly larger wheels; again, IMO![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
the leather upgrade is also a must for such a car, I was looking at the sticker today from the car, and the 4450 was worth it, as well as the extended trim option if they still offer it![naughty](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/naughty.gif)
looking forward to your future thread Sir, share pix of your Pcar any time: current or past

So car is officially on order with first week of July build date. Having a puppy dog and wife who sort of abuses the interior so I am staying with stock leather. This her car and mine is a Porsche with natural coach leather with deviated stitching so I am set. Wheels are still a quandary 19" or 20" AMGs I need to go to dealer in next days an solve that one. Did go with night vision and with ABC plus a whole bunch more. I think I have included every safety option.

I think it's better to change to the upgraded Nappa leather, you will regret not upgrading for such a luxury car especially if you set in any other car that has an upgraded leather and even though your wife has a dog remember the upgraded leather is more comfortable and for sure you gonna set in this car

OK Team, my final build after spending a hour at dealer:
Designo White, Silk beige/Espresso Nappa leather, premium package, 19" inch twin 5 spoke wheels, locking wheel bolts, heads up display, magic body control (ABC), surround view camera, heated windshield, night vision plus, exclusive trim with sunburst Myrtle wood trim, heated rear seats, driver assistance package. (heated seats are more for arthritis than weather) Humble opinions please.

Which driver assist package did you get? With steering assist? I love the steering assist on both long trips and in rush hour traffic.
The config should look great. Will love to see pics once you take delivery.
