just a couple early thoughts

the sport mode in the transmission is pretty quick with shifts, i was impressed, much more noticeable then our w221 s55o with the 5.5L NA

the other thing is, damn these doors are heavy, they get so tight at like 25 percent open, its a big pull to get it open more...what gives

maybe an issue with mine , but when i open them, it seems there a lot of resistance once i hit 25percent or so, no grinding or anything...

Hmm My car is about two months old and I have no problem opening the doors. As posted else where, I do have trouble getting them to stay open on an incline. I must say the soft close catches much earlier and works much better than the doors on my w221 did.

The opening resistance @ 25% open was just like you described vdub. Then I did a photoshoot of it on an incline opening and closing over the course of 3 hours last Sunday, and it seems to have loosened up. So maybe try that? Haha.

Agree with your comments regarding transmission in sport mode.

Isn't this the same as the w221 doors? When you stop moving the door, it holds. It holds very well.

the Hold is not the issue

its as your opening, say u want to compleltely open the door, it hits alot of resistance at about 25 percent rather than be smooth and fluid

Hmm, they must have changed it. In the 221, it's fluid until you stop, then it holds.
